Well....I had to do it. My BF and I are leaving to go on a cruise to the Caribbean in about 6 weeks (i hope to lose another 10-15lbs before we leave)........so I had no choice but to do the dreaded bathing suit shopping.
The last time I remember wearing a bathing suit, I believe I was 8 yrs old when my family went to disney world. It was Lime green, so maybe the color was just as traumatic as my chubby thighs, but either way...I was a shorts and t-shirt girl from that point on.
The only way I can describe the feeling of grabbing pieces of suits off the rack would be pure anxiety. Just knowing no matter what I grabbed, it was going to look horrible, and I would look disgusting and fat. I couldn't believe that after I put on this cute little tankini thing...I looked in the mirror under those Terrible Flourescent lights (which EVERY woman hates), and said to myself...
"hey....that's not that bad!"
I was 25 lbs down at that point, 28 now....and once I hit 30, I plan on putting it on again. I actually left the store that day with 3 bathing suits. Good thing they are mostly spandex so they will still fit after losing more weight.
But I started Atkins to improve my health and my life. And when I accomplish my goal of maintaining a healthy weight for my body......that will be the Ultimate Success Story..................BUT until then, I'll tell ya, Nothing has felt as good as looking in that mirror and saying that bathing suit didn't look half bad!
Thank you for all the support I receive from you guys, because I don't know if I would have been this successful over the last 3 months without ya!!
