Hello everyone, 2 weeks ago, my hubby and I started eating the low carb lifestyle. I say lifestyle because we will eat this way the rest of our lives. We cleaned out our cubbards and fridge on 8/26 and went grocery shopping.
Our start date was 8/27/07. My starting weight was 184 - I am 39 and 5'4. My goal weight is 140.
His starting weight was 307 and he is 6'0 and 44 years old. His goal weight is 210.
It has been 16 days and I have lost 13.5 pounds and he has lost 19.5 pounds. This is the best eating we have done...ever. We have more energy, he hasn't had heartburn since we started. I just feel better. My skin is nice and my hair is growing wonderfully. This way of eating is going to be our lifetime eating plan. The food is wonderful and drinking all that water hasn't been as hard as we thought. We gave up coffee and alcohol. and sugar...boy, that was a tough one. Felt like we had the flu for almost a week. I bought a cookbook on the 27th of August called Six Ingredients or Less Low-Carb Cooking and it has been amazing.
If your just lurking and reading the success stories for motivation....I suggest you join. The encouragement here is so wonderful and everyone is very friendly. I know, I was a lurker for almost 2 weeks before I said to myself, "I don't have anything to lose but weight"...and this way of eating WORKS!
