  • I Had Never Heard Of Atkins Before.........

My name is Judy, moved to italy 6 years ago,i couldnt resist the italian food,to be precise my mother in law thought i was too skinny for her liking and gorged me with her lovely cooking(but poison to my body),couldnt have resisted her homemade lasagne,canneloni,cakes... steadly but sure started gaining weight,20+ kilos for my small body frame 5'1'
Last summer after a week at the beach,it was i torture to see the beautiful scuplt bodies of italian girls, hid mine in sundresses, and i didnt bathe. i swear it was psychological torture..anyway after i got back to the comforts of my home, things went back to "normal"
My normal way of life was to hide from myself, friends who i lost contact with didnt want them to see what i had turned too, my comfort was in food. started having problems with my husband,i was lethargic......one day had a heart to heart talk with my dear hubby, told me didnt like what i had turned too, i could hardly recognise me,pulled out an photo ablum when we first met......i was shocked!!!!!!
So one day casually surfing the net, decided to read more about dieting and look out for a diet, browsed so many, then atkins got my eye, liked what i was reading.......and here i am writing a success story, 2 more kgs to go,but what i have achieved so far is a life turning exprience. am a whole new person, saved my marriage, improved my health and opened new doors for me.

Judy... that's an awesome story! Well done! You'll be at goal in no time!

I can so relate to everything you say... I too live in Italy and have an Italian MIL who cooks divinely. Her joy in life is to feed people!! Bringing her around to my new way of eating wasn't easy, but in the end I managed it. Seems you have too!

Really looking forward to a post in the near future where you tell us you're at your goal weight. It's just around the corner!

Having been to Italy, I sometimes wonder why the whole country is not gigantic. The food there is so good.

Awesome story, Judy! You are lucky to have found Atkins so soon after gaining the weight. You have done well sticking to it and already being so close to goal!

People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
