  • 2 days!

    Hi,

I started Atkins a few weeks but never stayed on for more than a day without failing. Even on Friday, I did a 20/24 Challenge and later that day went off the diet. On Saturday, July 12, I decided to be more resilient.

Yesterday, I had many temptations but pushed them away. Today, I went to the movies. My wife said she wasn’t going to get anything for herself, but I wanted her to enjoy herself. I stopped at a convenience store and got her some candy, none for me though. We went out for breakfast, and I was tempted to say I could restart tomorrow with Atkins, but I turned away my usual pancakes. Actually they had an Atkins Platter, which were eggs, sausage and bacon. I saw it as a sign from above to keep going! I went to the movies, bought my wife popcorn and put on extra butter for her. I put a piece in my mouth but spit it out in a napkin. I enjoyed the movie (Hancock), and when I came home I had some pork chops and a salad. I also cooked up some pork chops for the week.

It’s only been two days, but I feel like I made a breakthrough. It’s hard, but I want to be able to post a success story again in here.

    Re: 2 days!

Hey, spitting out the popcorn is a major victory. I am not being a smart*ss. I really mean it. You were tempted, and then said "I am not going to do this to myself". I consider that worthy of a standing ovation. Congratulations on a great start!

Dude, you have to be mentally strong and want to succeed. If a sign of food tempts you around each and every corner, then you will quit and restart on numerous occasions. Need to focus on your goals at hand and be true to yourself. If you dont motivate yourself, you will not succeed. Good luck and God Bless,Joe

Thats wonderful! Just think about it - your body should be in ketosis by now, so from now it will only be easier! All the best and be strong!

hey, our victories, no matter how small are still victories! Two days is better than before...and 3 and then 4 and then so on. Take it day by day, victory by victory...every time you decide NOT to eat that bad choice is a step closer to your goal! Congratulations!
