Wow! Amazing! Keep up the good work! It is posts like these that make me really want to stick with this. I just keep telling myself that I am more important than a peice of cake or cookie... they can't love my kids, pay the bills, or go to the park... I am so proud of you!

Thank you both for your kind words and encouragement, I appreciate it very much!!!!

MommaRuthie, I can’t agree with you more…..you are so much more important than a piece of cake or a cookie. The way I personally look at it is, I can eat that piece of cake or cookie and be gratified for as long as it takes for me to eat it….however, right afterwards I start feeling the guilt and the effects from eating something that isn’t healthy for my system. Then comes dealing with a stall and disappointment because of what I have eaten…so, it’s just not worth that few minutes of perceived enjoyment and satisfaction. Keep avoiding those cakes and cookies! You’re doing great!

I remember back just early last year when I thought, "Good grief, I'll never be able to lose even 5 lbs." I had tried so many different ways of eating and exercising throughout the years and nothing worked….in fact, I ended up gaining even more and more weight throughout the years. It became very stressful and incredibly disappointing. I felt absolutely powerless....defeated.

I have severe food allergies thus making it very difficult to eat a wide range of foods (which also didn’t help in trying to lose weight) including all dairy products, some veggies, some fruits and all nuts. Thankfully, I can eat meat, salad and some veggies so eating this way is exactly what my body has responded to. I also include olive oil in the foods I prepare.

I can't begin to explain how much different it feels losing 96 lbs. I was talking with my brother about it yesterday. I explained to him that I thought I was fine when I was heavier but the reality of the matter was I really wasn't. I had just adapted to my weight and re-arranged my life activities to accommodate such a high weight. The fact of the matter was...I wasn’t ok...I didn't feel well, I wasn't well....I just got by.

Now my life has changed so much, I want to do so many different activities it’s amazing! I have the energy and stamina to get through the day without being tired anymore. I have a great deal of weight to still lose but I’m on my way to losing the next 100 lbs.

Thanks again for your posts, they are uplifting and encouraging!

          Re: Weight loss update

You have lost 4 pounds in the time it has taken me to lose 24! (Not that I am not thrilled with my 24, trust me, I am!) Good job! My sister is over 300 pounds and doing WW.. I have to convince her about Atkins...she is being stubborn. Your last post is so happy and optimistic, I am so happy for you!

            Re: Weight loss update

            Hi momtomany1!

Thank you so much! I'm pretty excited about this 96 lbs being off....FINALLY! It's been so many years since I have been at this weight...I'm sad I was at this weight for so long, however, better late then never right?!?!? Can't look back now with regrets, that isn't helpful.

Congratulations on losing 24lbs!!! That's FANTASTIC!!!! Well done! You must be pretty thrilled about your loss....you SHOULD be girl!

I tried WW's many years ago and it was a disaster for me...I gained weight like crazy. All the foods they encouraged me to eat were the foods I was allergic to. I stayed away from the ones that would throw me in the hospital but tried to incorporate the ones that gave me less reactions....needless to say, I gained weight like crazy. Each week was so embarrassing because at weigh in, everyone else around me was losing weight and then when my turn came to jump on the scales I would be 5 to 10 lbs heavier each week! What a downer I can tell you!

I hope your sister can take a peek at this new way of eating and give it a try. I have some family members near and dear to me that just recently saw me and have taken notice on how much different I look and now are considering trying to eat the way I am. At first when they heard what I was doing they didn't think it was a good idea and had preconceived ideas from all the negative garbage they have heard about eating this way. The way I look at it is...the proof is the way I look. If that inspires them to give this new way of eating a try, I will be tickled and I know they will be all the more healthier for it. The thing is, they have to be determined to start. Lets hope the people we love in our families do!

Keep up the great work you're doing! And thanks again for the post, I greatly appreciate it!

Let me know if your sister decides to change her way of eating.
