  • Report from my Doctor :)

After 7 months on the Atkins Diet I can now report the following:

    1. My weight has dropped 70+ pounds.

    2. My blood pressure has dropped from 147/84 down to 114/62 as of yesterday morning!

    3. I will now only be taking a half-dose of of my BP meds and then will cease them in 2-3 months altogether.

    4. My physician is in fact a big fan of Atkins..who knew?

    5. My EKG was pronounced "awesome" and I have clearance from my Doc to engage in any sport of activity I wish to engage in.

    6. He wants to check my cholesterol in a month and says that the fish-oil and niacin I have been taking is awesome. He said he was unconcerned about checking my cholesterol right now because of the well known effect of the Atkins diet on that problem as well.

By way of comparison, 8 months ago I saw the same Doc. I had high BP, sleep apnea, some liver function concerns, aches and pains of every description, fatigue and a body weight at or over 400 lbs. (His scale only went to 350) I was taking Diovan with hydrochlorate and also taking 300 mg of allopurinol; all on a daily basis.

As you can see, the Atkins WOE cured every malady I suffered from. I have never been so strong in my entire life. I was "skinnier" 15 years ago, but not healthy. What I have today from this WOE and from regular exercise is beyond belief. I hop on the equipment at the gym and go STRONGLY for an hour or just 45 minutes every day. I am not panting or needing to rest during my workouts.

I am 38, and can now look forward to 40-50-60 more years of productive life. I thank everyone on here for sharing the Solution!!!

      Re: Report from my Doctor

I really do believe the body will heal itself if we simply give it the proper nourishment. A lot of these drugs that docs are pushing these days...total scam! Yes, I am now an Atkins fanatic and perhaps way too biased, but at at least I am on the side of the angels now, as the saying goes

Thanks for reading and giving the feedback, Sherri. We are all getting better one day and one low-carb meal at a time!

        You're welcome!
We share the same beliefs on our bodies healing itself.
Since i've been on Atkins I have reversed my Type-2 Diabetes now for nearly 5 years, kicked many meds to the curb and have managed to maintain a 100lb.+ plus weightloss.
So i'm a true believer of the healing effect. Yes, welcome to the side "of the angels".
One day at a time, one choice at a time. Always pushing forward.
Wishing you the best of health and lite.
        Sincerely, Sherri

Is that a fact. I don't care much for numbers but I loved reading those. Super job. How nice that your doctor is into Atkins.
