Re: Remarkable
Well, liv, I am having a mid-life crisis, and enjoying every moment.
I'm exercising moderately with weights four times a week, and doing cardio two or three times.
It's great fun. I'm becoming a jock in my 40s! (Hence the mid-life crisis). Anyway, I've decided that I'm going to have muscles at one point in my life at least, and this is just about the last shot I have. I'm not going crazy, but I have been exercising with very gradually increasing intensity since soon after I began the diet (I think since May) and the combination of Atkins + weights + cardio is definitely making me happier. As for the fat - that's now a vanity thing - and I suspect that I will have difficulty keeping it at 11%. But, even if I never get there, I am happier, healthier and
better looking than in years! I can't wait for it to be summer again to go
.
But.... what pisses me off is that I could very well have discovered Atkins years ago, sloughed off the excess weight and taken control of my physical well-being then!
As you may have been following, I am no longer doing Atkins as a WOL because of my cholesterol scare, but I am passionate about the benefits nonetheless. I check in fairly regularly to remind myself of my journey and get a warm buzz (and continued inspiration) from all the people who are having even more success than I did. In fact, I like Atkins so much, on the first anniversary of my diet, I am going to do a one-day Induction just to celebrate. I've missed those eggs!
