    Re: Remarkable

Well, liv, I am having a mid-life crisis, and enjoying every moment.

I'm exercising moderately with weights four times a week, and doing cardio two or three times. It's great fun. I'm becoming a jock in my 40s! (Hence the mid-life crisis). Anyway, I've decided that I'm going to have muscles at one point in my life at least, and this is just about the last shot I have. I'm not going crazy, but I have been exercising with very gradually increasing intensity since soon after I began the diet (I think since May) and the combination of Atkins + weights + cardio is definitely making me happier. As for the fat - that's now a vanity thing - and I suspect that I will have difficulty keeping it at 11%. But, even if I never get there, I am happier, healthier and better looking than in years! I can't wait for it to be summer again to go .

But.... what pisses me off is that I could very well have discovered Atkins years ago, sloughed off the excess weight and taken control of my physical well-being then!

As you may have been following, I am no longer doing Atkins as a WOL because of my cholesterol scare, but I am passionate about the benefits nonetheless. I check in fairly regularly to remind myself of my journey and get a warm buzz (and continued inspiration) from all the people who are having even more success than I did. In fact, I like Atkins so much, on the first anniversary of my diet, I am going to do a one-day Induction just to celebrate. I've missed those eggs!
    Born 1967. 6' 1". Male.

Started Atkins 28th April, at 216 pounds. Met goal weight on 9th July, at 176 pounds. New goal is to become trimmer without losing weight.
