  • 6 days on AD and this is what I've accomplished

    Hi everyone:

After realizing that I was doing the induction phase all wrong for 2 weeks, I decided to share so far what my accomplished goals have been in six days. I started the induction phase properly on May 25:

    Monday May 25:
    Body weight: 245 lb
    Body fat %: 20.12%
    L.B.M.: 195.70 (LBM = lean body mass)

    Thursday May 28:
    Body weight: 236 lb
    Body fat %: 18.47%
    L.B.M.: 192.40 lb

    Saturday May 30:
    Body weight: 235 lb
    Body fat %: 17.80%
    L.B.M.: 193.99 lb

I use the Jackson / Pollack method for caliper measurements.

    In summary:

I lost nine pounds the first three days but notice also that my lean body mass dropped by 3.3 lb. I believe that has to do with some water weight loss as well as intra muscular glycogen depletion.

Two mornings after, I dropped another pound but my L.B.M. increased by ~1.6 lb. Keeping very close to the macronutrient split, 65-30-5 has pushed my metabolism into the anabolic stage. I'm gaining muscle while losing fat. Unbelievable.

    Cheers ,

also im thinking along with water the first 3 days your muscles were still insulin resistance but now they are geting insulin sensitive

your body makes more insulin receptors on your muscles while doing low carb Atkins diet so they grow just as good as a high carb diet or better

and worked muscles will soak up all the carb glucose and protein converted glucose so you get extra fat loss benefits

thanks for posting your exp, stats and findings i really like seeing stuff like this cause im a body builder xD

but more so cause i have a freind at the gym whos somewhat pre diabetic and i want him to go on the Atkins diet but hes worried that he will lose his muscle if he does. so seeing things like this i can show him that he wont lose his muscle

so hope you can keep posting your success for awhile longer

also heres a couple useful videos about this stuff
