  • 12 week update. Real weight loss goes up AND down

    Well hello my lovelies! This list chronicles every week from the day i started till yesterday, which is 12 weeks total. I'm putting this up here because a lot of us are easily discouraged, and have a hard time seeing the big picture. I know I do! you get this idea in your head that that scale is going to go down every single day consistantly, and when it doesn't we freak out. I want people to see that the little stalls and misteps don't mean a thing in the big picture as long as you keep at it. All the fluctuations are normal. Heck look at mine! some of them are just ridiculous, and this isn't even counting the daily fluctuations. But then look at my average. Its right where I want it to be at nearly two pounds a week.

    Start - 226.6
    week 1- 216.4
    week 2- 216.3
    week 3- 219.2
    week 4- 214.4
    week 5- 211.4
    week 6- 213.2
    week 7- 209.2
    week 8- 208.0
    week 9- 208.0
    week 10- 207.8
    week 11- 205.2
    week 12- 204.0

    Total loss- almost 23lbs
    Overall weekly average- 1.9lbs a week

    p.s. nothing to do with this, but i just noticed that this was my 1,000th post! I'm an admiral! *whips out big fancy hat*

    I'm so glad you posted week-by-week and averages. You're so right, we can get very easily discouraged. Thanks!

      you know whats silly is i generally posted my weights every day or so on my fitday, but i never really went back and looked at it week to week to see just how weird my weight loss pattern is. i get all bummed out when i get stuck, but even with the stuck days (and sometimes weeks) my big out-of-nowhere drops even it all out.

          You've done really well I can relate to your weight loss I have had ups and downs like you too I guess as you stay on the diet the weight loss slows down.Keep it up your goals around the corner the rate your going.Good luck.

            its just how my body lets go of it i guess. i'll lose a big chunk of weight over a week or two, then pause for a week or two. i've currently been at 204ish for i think a little over a week, so i'm expecting some kind of drop soon i hope!

              You are too cute, lol - I like the big fancy hat I love that you show your progress and its SOOOO true about how people shouldn't see the day by day results - Instead look at the BIG PICTURE - it really shows the true progress - Congrats to the weight loss and the official title of *ADMIRAL*

                    I've been on Atkins 7 weeks on Wednesday! I've lost 15lbs as of today. Slow but steady.... just like you. Nothing wrong with that.... it's the healthy way. At least, that's what I keep telling myself

                        You've inspired me! I am just starting my 3rd week. I lost 11lbs in week one and ZERO in week 2. My weight has been going up and down daily. I thought everyone had good losses in the first 14 days and thought it might not be working for me, but this post has given me hope, I'll take 1.9lbs per week loss average anytime and at that rate I'll probably have less chance of loose skin!

                          It does really help to chart your weight. I just added up my numbers and I've lost about 1.4 lbs a week in the past 16 weeks. I'm just so glad it's coming off. And now people are starting to notice.
