so ya 3 weeks of atkins and so far 19 lbs lost
It's been hard being a trucker and finding the right foods to stay on the induction but it's possible...I don't cook or keep a refrigerator on the truck..the whole diet has been done eating from truck stops and fast food places....here's a summary of the foods I have found on the road:
Breakfast:
Mc Donald's is the Best for B-fast : 1 side of scrambled eggs 1 side of bacon or sausage
Subway - 6" omlet with ham and cheese - no bread
Wendy's - ask for a sausage burrito without the tortilla ( they usually keep the egg/sausage mix to make more burritos in the am ) with or w/out cheese
Flying J - Breakfast buffet to go - I get a reasonable size portion of scrambled eggs and 2 slices of bacon or 2 sausage links ( could order these ala carte but takes forever, the buffet is faster but a bit more expensive)
- Deli Box, Flying J sells hard boiled eggs, 4 in a pack, I will just eat the whites cause I hate yokes (bleh!) but if im feeling creative, I will chop up the whole eggs add 3 packets of mayo, 3 packets of mustard, and 3 packs of pepper to make a great egg salad.
Petro - in the deli they sell hard boiled eggs and deviled eggs, i will get one or the other
Pilot-if there is not a subway (wich is rare) I will get a packet of sharp cheddar cheese and find a meat stick that has <1 g of carbs ( not ideal but works in a pinch )
Loves - They don't have much for atkins there except meat sticks and occasionally cheese... but they do have Carl's Jr in some locations and subways
Carl's Jr / Hardees - Low carb breakfast bowl :P ( no salsa, it has sugar
..I use tabasco or tapatio instead )
Lunch:
Mc Donald's : Dbl Qtr pounder w/cheese plain, no bun and side salad with ceasar ( have to pull out the carrots from salad )
Wendy's : Baconator plain no bun , ceasar side salad
Subway : Philly Cheesteak Salad w/shredded cheddar(easy lettuce) I dont put dressing on instead if they have real mayo i have them put that and salt/pepper or ask for olive oil packets..( this is one of my favs so delicious and filling)
Taco Bell : sry amigo but I haven't found anything atkins friendly there yet...if anyone has let me know
Flying J - Turkey leg ( so delicious and it's a meal in itself, if i have this I will get my veggies doubled at dinner )
- Hard Boiled eggs(4) , packet of cheddar cheese slice
- Steak Buffet - on certain days the Flying J has these awsome little medalion steaks, i get about 4 of those and add steamed broccoli or a small salad to the side
Dinner :
I like to hit up buffets for dinner and look for some sort of meat and approved veggie.
with all this I am constantly drinking water throughout the day, I buy the 32 oz bottles and drink on them as I drive...I usually polich off 4 or 5 of these for a total of around 140 - 160 oz of water per day.
I have been in deep purple on the keytone strips ( not sure if the color means I am burning more fat or not )
