    A little over 5 months ago I looked in the mirror and wasn't happy with what I saw. To make a long story short, I decided to make a change and researched my options. I chose Atkins, bought the book, followed the directions, and now I've met my goal and lost 52 lbs. I realize that weight loss is a struggle for many so I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I've found this to be simple, straightforward, and ...dare I say it?....easy. Although I've not been a frequent poster, I have found many of the posts here to be extremely informative and helpful. Thanks to all.

    Wow you have done so well and didn't find it difficult because you thought positively and was determined to lose the weight for yourself which is the key to sucess.WELL DONE FANTASTIC!

        1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
        what the rungs mean to me:
        rung 1 - more veggies
        rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
        rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
        rung 4 - berries, melon
        rung 5 - wine -
        rung 6 - beans, hummus
        rung 7 - other fruits
        rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
        rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
        Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
        (on to pre-maintenance)

          Heaviest weight - 403 lbs. (2007)
          April 1, 2008 - 387 lbs. (This is when I initially started to lose weight…but was not on Atkins at this point)
          Atkins start weight – 347 lbs. (July 19, 2008 – began Atkins)
          1st major goal met -----100 lbs. lost as of Oct 2, 2008 - Hit 300 lbs. on this day – From April 1-08 when I initially begin to lose weight.
          2nd major goal met - 151 lbs. lost as of Jan 13, 2009 - Hit 249 lbs. on this day.
          3rd major goal met - Wed, May 13-09 - Reached losing 200 lbs. in just over a year and a couple of months.
          4th major goal met – Reached “Onederland” June 6-09 – 198 lbs.
          Current weight – 186 lbs.
          Goal weight - 150 – 160
