Hello everyone. I am new here but not to atkins. I started atkins in Sept 04 I did great the first 2 weeks but could not lose more than 15 pounds. I did not have the book only new you couldn't have sugar. I stopped dieting and waited a month then got the book. I stepped on the scale knowing I would see those 15 put back on but surprisingly I only gained 1 pound! I said ok I am going full force this time. You see I am only 5'1" and I weighed 220 pounds. I was on medication when I was young and gained a lot of weight. I kept it on till I had my daughter 3 years ago. I was so big I only gained 4 pounds with her. The doctors said it was ok and she was almost 7 pounds. One day in sept. she ran off in wal mart and I ran after her and fell flat on my face in the express lane. People were saying look she is so fat and laughing. I said no more. I have currently lost 65 pounds and keep my carb intake under 15 grams a day. I have about 30-40 pounds more to go. I went from a size 18/20 to a 9/10. It really works. The only bad part is people keep saying it is unhealthy but I know different. I went from living to eat, to eating just to live. Keep it up.
