      Re: Reasons To Avoid Carbs

      6. You've never had a girlfriend in your life.

      11. Any time you walk into a room you fear people are thinking about how fat you are.
everyone is here for their own reasons - we may not (or may) have the exact same things on our lists that you wrote on yours - but honestly whether it was 200 pounds to lose or 20 pounds to lose - everyone here understands feelings of frustration.

#6 on your list - that was my #1 (reverse, obviously, lol) for me years ago when I was at my highest of 220 and a size 20. in fact - truth be told - my husband (yup, we're legal - but our wedding is next year...anyways) - my husband is only my THIRD boyfriend. I had a boyfriend in high school - but then didn't have another one until I was 27 years old. and that only lasted for 2 months. then - a year later I met and fell in love with DH.

But my love-life is definitely something that has ALWAYS driven my weight loss. there were SO many times when I honestly thought I was going to be that lonely old maid because no one would love me because I was fat. yup - I was one of those girls. BUT I've found someone who loves me for me and has seen me at my worst and my best (weights and emotions! lol)

and #11. I STILL have issues with this - even though I'm only 1 pound "overweight" and I know I'm NOT fat anymore - it's still one of the first things I think of is "hmmm i wonder if people think i'm fat". unfortunately it's just one of those "issues" that's been ingrained in my head since childhood.

So yeah - my point is we all TOTALLY understand - we've all been there. But the best thing is? You CAN and WILL conquer every single item on that list!

you are absolutely amazing for bringing out this list and letting yourself out there.

just be patient and know that this WORKS and it's not going to come off over night. But if you start now - and say you only lose 1 pound per week - in one year you'll be 52 pounds lighter.

so good luck and know that everyone here is here to help you along your way!!!

        Re: Reasons To Avoid Carbs

Thank you guys all very, very much. Most of you have probably seen and responded to my Debating Atkins thread in the main forum. That was a small speed bump at the beginning of my road, but I'm still trucking along.

As of this morning, the scale tells me I'm 11.5 lbs. lighter.
