Re: Extra skin after weight loss?

I've recently read of this scar / stretch mark reducer, Bio-Oil.
I love Bio Oil, used it through both my pregnancies, didn't get a single strech mark and my tummy popped back. Unfortunately I stopped using it after and now have a few on my legs and hips from weight gain. Have just bought some more so not sure how it works on existing strech marks yet.

    Goal 1 - 5lbs - met 04/10/10
    Goal 2 - 10lbs - met 05/02/10
    Goal 3 - 15lbs
    Goal 4 - 20lbs
    Goal 5 - 25lbs
    Goal 6 - YAY 30lbs lost!!!

Women definitely have it tougher than men when it comes to this. Brook is completely right.

I've read a lot how excess skin is really excess fat, and an effort to lose more body fat and reducing the body fat % will pretty effectively make the skin shrink.

Something like how even though there's been great weight loss, your % might be higher than you think because of all the fat in the extra skin. Getting the % down will take care of the skin. Of course that's the absolute hardest weight to lose, but still.

Good luck! I hope surgery isn't necessary for ANYONE for this issue! Getting cut and sewn back together isn't fun, even if it's too look great naked. Put in that extra work in dieting, and use some weights, and the skin should go away naturally.
N.B.: not on Atkins, but low-carb dieting for a healthy lifestyle change and weight loss. Taubes' Good Calories, Bad Calories changed what I thought I knew about nutrition
