  • Minor successes are still successes!

I'm on day six of Induction and I already have a bunch of little successes to share!

    1) Cheat-free for five days. Longest I've ever gone without eating carby/sugary foods! We had doughnuts at work this morning, and I really really really really wanted one, but I stuck to my plan and didn't eat one.

    2) My boyfriend and I went shopping on day three. He loaded his cart up with junk foods that I would have eaten three days previously. My reaction was "YUCK! How can he eat that type of food? Doesn't he know it'll make him fatter?"

    3) I'm shrinking!!!!! There's nothing like visible success to make it easier to stick with the annoyances of Inductions! By the second day (even with cheating on the first day) my panties were fitting better. Yesterday I wore a pair of jeans that I haven't been able to wear in a while. They were still a bit tight when I put them on but they quickly stretched out.

    4) I feel fantastic! Since day two I haven't felt hungry between meals, and have lots of energy. I can think clearer too. I have ADD, and hopefully by following this WOL I can reduce or eliminate my need for expensive stimulants and anti-depressents.

    5) I've been drinking so much water lately. I got a half gallon jug (that I hate. It leaks sometimes!) and set a goal to drink at least three a day. Yesterday I met that goal!

    6) I used to drink a LOT of Diet Coke. I quit cold turkey (ummm turkey...) Monday after I finished my last one and haven't had any sense. I did crave one today, but I didn't have one.

    7) Did I mention I'm shrinking? First time in my life that my measurements have gone DOWN not up. I'm just as happy as pigs in mud that this is working. I don't know how much I've lost this first week, but I feel good.

My double chin is almost GONE! I didn't used to mind being fat, but I hated that double chin.

    9) I've been able to resist the lure of candy. I had a bag of candy I bought last Friday on my kitchen table, and I put it in a cabinet today and resisted having 'just one piece'. I'm afraid if I do cheat I'll wake up tommarow and my shrinking will have all reversed.

    So yay for me!
