  • 4 Days Complete

Well, I have completed 4 days of this and I believe I have been perfect with my eating. Made sure not to eat anything I was not supposed to, ate the veggies I hate so much, had some salad I hate so much, drinking tons of water and am positive I was under 20 carbs per day........I had to get on the scale because I did not feel much different and I was right, nothing has happened yet. I have to admit that I am pretty discouraged with the non-results thus far...........The good news for me is, this has been pretty easy to follow and I have had next to no cravings for food or carbs whatsoever. But, I am beginning to wonder if this type of diet works for everyone ensive

You were bad! Bad bad bad. Dont get on the scale. SCALES ARE EVIL bend on discouraging us. Do the full 2 weeks then get on the scale. You will see a loss. Some of us even gained in the first few days due to all the extra water we were drinking. Be patient

Are you using fitday to track your fat/protein/carb ratios? Keeping under the 20 carbs is a big part of it all, but Atkins is a high fat diet, and fitday can help you see where you're at. Here's a link to help you out with that.

@ a Mod: Shouldn't this thread be moved to 14-day Induction?

@demons19: The lbs WILL come off if you stick with it. Maybe your body doesn't want to release the fat just yet. I would do everything right for weeks with no loss, then BAM! I would lose 10lbs. Hang in there.

If you scroll down the list of forums on the index page you will find the 'Review my menu' forum.
If you first read the sticky on how to post your menu then start a new topic and list all you eat each day with amounts etc and including any fats you are cooking with then someone can look in case you are mistakenly eating somethinjg wrong.

BTW some people dont actually start losing pounds till they have been on Atkins a while so don't let it get you down. This is one reason it is suggested you do 14 days on induction before you get on the scales.
Give your body the chance to adapt itself to the way of eating before fretting about it. :hug
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

            Hi demons19 :wave,

This is a great start, 4 days clean is top progress! The first days are a big challenge, so you have done great.

If you had big carb load prior to starting Induction it can take between 3 and 5 days for your body to switch across to fat burning mode, this can be speeded up by taking excerise. So do not be discouraged, you have done very well and you will start to feel results very soon.

Scales are not always the answer, very tempting I know but be kind to yourself and give yourself a pat on the back and some more time :yes.

I am holding firm after 5 days with no weight loss.....I cannot help but go on that evil scale because the strange thing is, I actually feel better, feel lighter, have no cravings for carbs/junk, and my blood pressure was down. Yet, I step on the scale each morning and torture myself and become discouraged and think I am metabolically challenged......I have done exercise 4 of the 5 days so I feel I am doing all that I can. My body must be a camels hump full of carbs!

                Hi demons19,

When I started the low carb plan I didn't loose weight for ten days, and I thought I was dying for 1 week. But by the end of the first month (30 days) I lost over 20 lbs. Please do not be discouraged, keep on going!

I saw that you say you hate salads. I may have a solution for you. This works for me so far.
I have a spinich salad with loads of bacon cheese and even some hard boiled eggs. The best no carb dressing is Newman's Own Creamy Ceasar. It naturally has 0 carbs! Another way I stuff in my veggies is I make this cucumber salad. I use those seedless cucumber (they are the bomb!) So I just slice up some cucumber and throw sour cream on top, and it makes it totally yummi!
Oh, I have started putting garlic and dill and a bit of salt and pepper in the mix too. A squeeze of lemon juice helps too.
If you like salmon, you can marinated the salmon in oil and dill, cook it and then prepar the dill dip to eat with it. I almost garantee you will love it.
Oh one more thing, at the end of the 14 days check this link out,

This site has a chart so you will know how well this diet will work for you, and understand your Metabolic Resistence.
Good luck and hang in there
