  • Getting Ready!!!!

    Hello everyone!

Well went to Wal-Mart today to do some grocery shopping and picked up some food I will need to start the program... got some bottled spring water and some multi-vitamins and some other ones I needed and was only $132. :yikes oh included in that was a kitchen scale.

So tomorrow morning I begin my quest to get rid of that extra person I have been carrying around for some time now...

Have the book about half read now and will continue until it is done!

I know READ THE BOOK!! lol

I will be seeing my doctor tomorrow and can just imagine how he is going to respond to be doing this. :no

Any how wish me luck and will post how my eating went the first day and you can all evaluate how I did or didn't do. Johnny :icondance

    Welcome Johnny,

Sounds like you are prepared and ready to get started. That's great!!! You will never regret eating the low carb way.

You may be surprised how your Dr. reacts. Many Dr.'s are seeing positive results from patients like us and are recommending our WOL to others. So go get your tests at the Dr. office and get started.

If your Dr. is a bit concerned, he/she will be in for a wonderful surprise when he/she seeing how well you will be doing eating and exercising like all of us here at ADBB.

You might give your Dr. the link for ADBB and tell him to check us out. We are here to get healthier and help others do the very same.

We are one big happy family of BIG LOSERS!! LOL Welcome aboard!

Hey thats great. My cousin told the Doc she wanted to do atkins and she NO but I had already prepared her for that so she took the book and showed her the induction acceptable foods. Her doc turnes around and gave her the go ahead. Take the book just in case. (Tell the doctor to "read the book" LOL)

Johnny, invite your doctor if he has a problem with this way of eating....and "we'll" deal with him. *chuckle* actually my doctor back in Canada, whom I've known since my pre puberty days, advised me to do the Atkins. This was about a two years back.. So I trust his judgment...

Good luck with starting your diet! I have a strong feeling that you will do awesome on this WOE and be one of those huge success stories!

Good luck on your first day. Sounds like you are equipped with all the necessary tools. Instead of saying I do "atkins" I tell my doc what I eat.. I eat meats, fresh veggies, nuts, fruits, and occasionally whole grains.. but I never eat sugar, white flour, or processed foods.. And that always makes them happy. Then some go so far as to ask how I learned about this eating, and I tell them I read the Atkins book. lol

I am rootin for you, dont let me down now will ya??? You can do it. The first few days may be a struggle, but hang in there. The best thing about this way of eating is that you really have even keel moods. Nothing too high, and no lows. Thats what I like the best about it. Plus, my Gosh, I have never slept so good in my life. It takes a few days, maybe even a week,,, so when you start to feel down, or start to 2nd think yourself,, come see us all here... :wave

Good luck, you won't be disapointed! You might be surprized what your Dr. will think. Mine was all for it. My aunts Dr. was a bit concerned until her 3 month check up after. She stoped taking her thyroid and other meds and tests were all improved, shes now down 55 pounds. It's amazing what changes will happen with this wol.

hoping for a short lived induction flu for you.....just get through that part and you'll be fine.

                    Hi Johnny :wave
Just wanted to wish you all the best and no (or very quickly over) induction 'flu' in your Atkins journey :hug
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
