  • My First Day on Induction!!

    Hey Everyone!

Well I made it through the first day of Induction and it was interesting to say the least.

    Breakfast: 2 fried eggs
    Ground Sauage- 6 ounces

Lunch: Sardines in spring water - 3.75 ounces
green salad with celery, radishes, green peppers and cukes. 3cups..( made the mistake and bought a scale instead of using a measuring cup so ended up with about 3 cups of salad).
    2 boiled eggs

    Supper: 2 Pork chops - 17 ounces
    2 boiled eggs -
    Chedder cheese - 1 ounce

I also used RANCH fat free dressing on salad. Used almost a tbls and found out better to use full fat dressing which I will do next time.

I will have drank 125 ounces of water when I am done with this last bottle tonight.

I took some supplements: Centrum Silver multi-vitamins and L-Glutamine to curve carb addiction and bought some Equate fiber therapy if needed.

I am doing pretty good and not craving hardly at all but a little this evening but manageable.

So let me have it!!!! How did I do? ha

P.S. I also went to the doctor's and got the blood work done and my doctor to my amazement was all for the program and will monitor me close on my blood sugars when they do drop and monitor my insulin intake.

My sugar was 129 just before supper so pretty good for me.

I also went for a short walk as this is difficult at this time but managed 20 minutes which was split between walking and sitting.

    Hey Johnny-Montana!

I'm no expert, it looks good to me, but I'll leave the induction comments to others who know more.

BUT I want to weigh in with some cheers for you -- BRAVO! Wow, and that's great that your doc is so supportive, too! You're off to a bang, water, vitamins, everything!

I've only read one other of your posts -- are you getting in exercise, too?

    Whooo Hoooo!

        Good start! :yes

A few comments...don't be shy to have the sardines packed in oil...unless you don't care for them and prefer the water-packed ones. Remember, Atkins is a high-fat diet.

Try and spread your veggies out through the day. Your digestive system will thank you for it and also, too many carbs at once like that can mess with your blood sugars. Personally I will have my veggies at lunch and at dinner...some people can eat a salad for breakfast, but I'm not one of them.

I believe 5 eggs per day is the max...(not completely positive though)

Remember to snack if you feel hungry between meals...combining a protein with a fat is best because it satisfies you quicker and sustains you longer. I find that I'll have a small breakfast at 7:30 am, a small lunch at 11:30, then a snack around 2 pm, then dinner at 6. It works better for me than sitting down to three squares a day.
Plus I feel very spoiled eating all day like that...lol

Now...you've seen the sticky about Fitday, right?

        It's very helpful :yes

And you've heard all about Induction Flu, and you know to expect to feel yukky for a few days but that it'll pass?

Good job for day 1!! :icondance

            you are doing great!

Rebel, you can pat yourself on the back, thats a great first day menu. I especially liked that you had such good variety and that you included fish! Good job on your veggies! ha

You are very prepared, and that will ensure your success. :nod

If you haven't started doing Fitday yet, you might want to start keeping track of your percentages that way.

Great job on your water too! You are on your way to freedom from carb and sugar addiction, great health and weight loss!
