  • 2nd Day on Induction

My fiance and I just started Atkins yesterday. The first day went well. I didn't get any headaches or feel weird yet. I am thinking that will start today. It seems weird that I lost 4 pounds in one day; must just be water wait.

Are there any other guys who would want to join me on this?

One other question for you all.......Is rotisary(?) chicken from the grocery store ok? It says zero sugar and zero carbs. It was really good.

Also, Is Hidden Valley Ranch OK for induction? It has 1 carb in it?

Thanks so much for all your help.

Sounds like you are aware of Induction Flu, and that's good! It's best to be prepared for that so when you feel yukky, you don't throw in the towel.

The rotisserie chicken should be fine, we eat it a few times a month ourselves. (I save the carcasses, throw them in the freezer and when I have about 3 or so, I'll boil them down and make soup!)

And Hidden Valley Ranch is just fine :yes

Just a note though...you asked if the chicken was ok, then you said that it was good. It might be a good rule of thumb to check into something before you actually eat it.
I've seen too many posts with "Oh no!! I ate sugar/wheat/something illegal!!" and I'd rather see posts with "Whew! Dodged a bullet on that one!" :yes

You'll get very good at reading labels on this woe! All of those chickens that are available in stores by me contain sugar! I guess they use a bbq sauce on them.

          Welcome

          Hi Nathan,

Welcome to this WOE I see your from MN Welcome!!! Another Mid-westerner! As for the chicken at the store, yes. I go to the grocery store almost daily and pick up chicken breast, etc. One thing to look out for is breading and if sauces are applied. Alot of seasoning sauces have added sugar and corn syrup. I've gotten into the habit of simply ripping off the skin and I avoid sauces and flavorings. Good ol' pepper and salt works great
