Today, I picked up Hormel's Real Bacon Bits to put in my ranch dressing. Zero Carbs and Zero Sugar. But yet, when I look at the ingredients, it has dextrose and brown sugar listed!!! It makes me angry that as much as I read labels, they state no sugar and then I find some!!! Just had to vent. So is this a No-No food? The label clearly says 0 carbs and 0 sugar.

The serving size is probably 1 or 2 tablespoons, so the amount of carbs in that small a portion will be trace. If you're just sprinkling it on your salad, I would say it's ok to continue using unless you find that it's causing sugar cravings. I'm too cheap to throw things out, so you might just want to pitch it if you feel comfortable wasting it.
You can probably make 5 times the amount of real bacon bits by crushing up your own bacon for the same cost as one of those little bottles. Then you'll be sure of what's in there too.
