yesterday i restarted, today i cheated :/. Just figured i'd come here because i'm on induction again and because i didn't come here when i first started the diet back in november '03. Soooo here i am

annnnd i have a question. my stgw is 190. i'm 211.5. Is it possible to lose that much during the two weeks of induction?

Annd another question, which has been x-posted in the teens section: How do i succeed in doing atkins in a non-atkins friendly environment? :/ My mom won't help me buy things until i can find a job either (i'm hoping for a job at walmart though. Pray that i get it! lol)

    Hello! :wave
Just try to stay positive in a non-friendly Atkins einviroment! I understand Believe me ! I think that it is possible to lose that much weight like you are asking. If you read the board I think someone has lost 18lbs recently on week one. So stay positive and welcome back ! You can do it. And I am praying about the Walmart Job !!! Good Luck !! :icondance

if you stick to getting fresh foods while on induction, doing Atkins isn't too expensive. try going to the grocery store with your Mom and put the least expensive vegetables in the cart like lettuce, broccoli, and spinach.
Look for sales on cheeses, and buy store brand instead of name brand items.

Don't buy any atkins products or pre packaged low carb items, they tend to be expensive. stay in the diary and produce isles and you should keep the cost way down.

      hope that helps :yes
      Cheers!

As want2bslimat30 said, you don't have to spend extra money on the so-called 'lowcarb' bars and shakes or any other processed lc aternatives.
plain meats/fish/chicken/100% meat burgers plus eggs, cheese, butter/oil for cooking and veggies from the allowed list. Foods most people will be buying anyway!
Here is a link to a wallet-size list to keep handy to check you stay 'legal' when you are eating out or shopping http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ic.php?t=66739

        Edited to add:
How old are you? (I noticed you mentioned the teen forum)
Teenagers need different amounts of vitamins etc than adults as they are still developing so you really ought to have your doctor keep an eye on you :hug
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

P.S. I just have to say I like your nickname. It is what my son calls our new kitten when she is misbehaving (Her name is Kitty).
