I forgot to add something else. I seem to be loosing 1-2 pounds a day. Is this normal for Induction??

      Yes, it can be! :yes
A person can lose from 5% to 10% of their desired amount during the first two weeks of induction. ( People who want to lose 100 pounds can expect to lose around 5 to 10 pounds, for example..often they'll lose even a few more)

Give this a read though, because as exciting as this initial weight loss is, it doesn't last (although, MAN, that'd be great if it did!! lol :joy )

WOW, that is great. I'm on my 10th day and I've only lost 2 lbs but I have that "high metabolic resistance" the book talks about due to some of the medications it mentions that slows the weight loss down. But I'm not discouraged as I've lost some inches which has encouraged me. :joy

Finally, I see another person who loses slowly! I am also on a couple medications that the book says can slow progress. It got me down, and I had actually stopped adkins altogether. But, I'm on the wagon again, day 3, and hoping I have more success this time. I haven't measured, or weighed, because it's hard not getting the results you think you should get.

You are so lucky! You're losing fast and steady! I am on day 10 and losing about .5 per day. I am completely NOT hungry and, yesterday, I forced myself to eat 5 pieces of bacon in the evening because my caloric intake was only 998 (carbs were at 18...too many veggies, I think that day!). So, wow! I'm sure you will stay on the losing track! Good job!

For those of you who are slow losers...think of it this way...a pound gone is a pound gone...and that's so terrific!! :joy It's like pennies in a jar...they don't seem like much but they add up over time.

And your tape measure is your better friend than the scale...so measure up once a month! :yes

Thanks! What a great idea! I think I will put $5 in a jar for every pound I lose, and when I'm at goal, I'll buy myself a cute shirt or something!

Thank you all! I am just so excited! I am losing a pound or more every day! I can't help but get on the scales every morning and see. Everytime I do, I lose another pound! Now, another pound, so I have lost 14 pounds and this is the 9th day for me. :icondance Since I am doing so well on this Induction, would it be safe to continue on until I reach close to my goal?

Induction rules! I too weigh every morning, it's fun, huh?. This is day 11 and I'm down 6.5. I'm DEFINITLY staying on induction for at least one month from my start date, then see how I feel. Keep it up (I mean down!)

You all give me hope. I'm in my second week of induction and have only lost five pounds. I'm not even in ketosis anymore and I haven't cheated!

Keep up the awesome work, everyone! :hug

Misty, you and I started at the same time. I read in the whooshie pie area that you have stalled. Me too, no real loss for 10 days (+/- .5 every day). Still hanging in there, have not cheated and am doing everything right. Can't stomach that whooshie pie thing, I'm wait for the whooshie fairy, instead!

This is a good question...and it needs addressing.

You can stay on Induction for as long as you feel comfortable and those folks with large amounts of weight to lose may choose to stay on it for quite some time until they've gotten rid of a substantial amount....BUT remember that OWL and Pre-maintenance are extremely important to set you up for lifetime of eating this way, so when you are 20 pounds or so from goal, you should be starting up the rungs of OWL.
There's a danger of becoming trapped in Induction, and scared to venture into other foods for fear the weight loss will stop.

It's probably better that you start up the rungs before that even so that you can increase the variety of foods that you eat. Remember the first rung of OWL is more veggies, and it's a pretty simple thing to up the amount of veggies in your day. You can stay on each rung for a while as well...I stayed on the veggie rung for a few months until I was ready to move on.

Boredom with food is also something that can set in, so introducing new things makes it all so exciting and interesting!

I started OWl on day 15, so for the past week, I have added 5 gm in veggie each day (except one day when I wasn't hungry all day). I did not introduce anything new, just additional qty. I've got 11 lbs to lose, should I go right into pre-maintenance? I was thinking I'd like to wait for a substantial drop, like maybe 1 lb!
