  • Headaches anyone?

I am looking for some advice. I tried doing induction last week and ended up going off because I had a killer headache for 4 straight days. I went to bed with it and got up with it. I just couldn't deal with it anymore.

Anyway I ordered vitamins from Atkins planning to restart tomorrow with taking the vitamins this time, but am wondering if anyone else has had headaches this bad and if anything helped (I was taking ibuprophen and aleve). I am really nervous about that headache coming back...I have 2 small children and run a daycare in my home....needless to say this enviornment isn't headache friendly.

I had headaches too during my induction flu. I did take Ibuprofen which helped, but as soon as it wore off the headache came back. after 3 days or so induction flu stopped and I was headache free - for the most part. My eyes are bad and I haven't gotten around to seeing a doctor about them so i get headaches sometimes from starting at a computer screen all day thaks to work.

I had headaches around day 4 and they lasted for a couple of days.. Not sure if it was induction flu for me, or caffiene withdrawl.. I took ibuprofen, tylenol, and tried to sleep it off as much as possible. Good news is, it is only temporary..

I too have headaches. This is day 3 on an induction re-start, and for day one and two, I had mild headaches from morning until night. Today, I still feel it a little, but it's getting better. Usually those first few are the worst, I KNOW we'll start feeling better if we stick with it!

I Had Headaches the 2nd and 3rd day of induction (thank god thats all my induction flu lasted), i took some Aleve and it helped a little bit, but you just kinda have to be strong willed and not pay attention to the headaches, because after a few days, they will go away. I think of it this way "its good to get those headaches because you know its working!", thats what kept me going :icondance
          Good Luck!

I was still suffering on day 7, but it passed.
You just have to grit your teeth, keep that ibuprofen or tylenol handy, and don't give in to it. Keep telling yourself it's temporary, because it is, and once it's over, it's over, done, finished, and it's pretty much clear sailing.

In a weirdo sort of way, I kept telling myself this was my penance for being wantonly gluttinous all these years. :geek

I was one of the lucky ones that didn't get headaches or the induction flu during induction. Today, though, WOAH! I went 4 hours without eating and I thought I was going to drive off the road. I was driving home like a maniac with my window down and my head halfway hanging out. I couldn't get there fast enough. It was like a mini-induction flu, because it subsided after I ate 2 ounces of cheese and popped some advil. I always knew I ate all the time, but I was shocked that I got this way after only 4 hours. That's sort of embarrassing. I know Atkins recommends 3 regular meal or 4-5 small meals, but if it's going to stave off the headaches, maybe you could try eating something every 2 hours and see if that helps?
