  • Holiday weekend...don't want to blow it

    Hi all,

This is my 4th day of induction and this morning I jumped on the scale and I am down 5 pounds. I am so happy.

This weekend my hubby and I are driving to Minneapolis to take our kids to Valley Fair. Fun! I need some suggestions so I don't cheat.

My husband is very supportive of me but feels that exercise/working out is all that a person has to do. He told me I could cheat and just walk it all off. He is a very consistant person, he has been going to the gym now for about 6 years, 3 times a week and is able to eat whatever and never gain...he never loses either. But you see, I'm consitantly...inconsistant! That is my personality. I will attack a task like a bat out of **** and then lose interest.

I'm 35 years old, and sick of being sick. I hate looking in my closet at all the pretty clothes I have and only be able to wear 2 pairs of elastic waist pants and a few t shirts. In my family heart disease is a common thing, my Dad had quad by pass surgery when he was 43. I want to live...I want to fit into my clothes I want to be healthy and I want to show my children a healthy way to live.

Anyway, if anyone has been at a theme park and not cheated, your suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you so much!

    Jana

YOU WILL DO FINE! Just stay strong. I'm going to the country this weekend and they are planning a fish fry on Saturday. I've already told my husband you better get the grill ready to do me some fish. He's already prepared for it!

Jana, do you have a cooler to take? If not, it would be a GREAT investment! We have 2 huge ones that we take camping.

You can leave them in your vehicle while you're at the park. Load it up with legal foods. The list is almost endless: Hard boiled eggs, deviled eggs, pre-made salads, salad dressings, cheeses, celery, etc. And not to feel left out, make up something dessert-like to have when everyone else is having ice-cream.

Use your imagination. There is no reason to cheat just because you're out playing for a day. :nono

I think you'll be fine! :hug
