  • Need a menu

Hi all, I am new here and am planning starting this diet on Monday.
What I am looking for is a menu for the first week that is simple.
I dont drink coffee or tea. I work full time and would like something simple. If anybody could tell me what they ate for the first week that worked for them...plz do. I will try anything!!

Just, FYI, I was unsure about this diet at first, but after reading these post, I feel I can do it too!!

    Thanks a bunch.
    Thanks,
    Mary

Your menues really depend upon which foods from the list, you like to eat. My menu includes things like lamb chops, chicken livers, Belgium endive, arugula, okra, and goat cheese. So it's really individual.

As for food preparation, I usually make a large batch of plainly cooked food. For example, on Sunday, I'll grill 5 chicken breasts: one for dinner and the others to use the rest of the week.

I also have frozen veggies in my freezer so I can quickly cook them. Same thing with the "salad" veggies.

I do what not2late does too... I'll grill a bunch of chicken breasts, or pork loins, or steak tips, and then save them in tupperware. The easiest way to fall off the wagon is to not be prepared.

To answer your question though, here are some of my favorite meals that are quick & easy and all induction friendly:

      Chicken BLT bowl
Grill 1 boneless skinless chicken breast, then cut up into bite sized pieces.
Cook & crumble 4-5 slices of bacon.
Add chicken & bacon to 1 cup shredded lettuce & 1 small diced tomato (about 1/4 cup), then mix all together with about 1 or 2 tbsp. of mayonnaise.

      Chicken Broccoli Alfredo
Saute chicken pieces in olive oil until cooked. Cook broccoli until done (steam it, saute it, microwave it, doesn't matter). In a small pan, mix 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1/3 cup parmesan cheese, and 1 tbsp butter. Keep on medium heat for about 10 minutes until the sauce is thickened. Pour over chicken & broccoli. This sauce will cover about 2-3 servings worth. Make sure you count this towards your heavy cream and cheese allowance!

For snacks I like celery & cream cheese with a little celery salt sprinkled on top.

Check out the recipe section for more ideas! The best thing to do during Induction is to Keep It Simple. I found that many of my most satisfying meals were plain old grilled pork chops off the grill, or a nice juicy steak with a side of veggies. Just stick to the list of acceptable foods and you'll be fine.
