  • Failure

Hi I was on Atkins a few weeks ago and I was doing real well and then a personal crisis arose in my life and all of the progress I have made just disappeared. Man it hurts to fail especially when I was doing so well. But you know what hurts even more being fat. I am fat and that is a hard realization and I want to do something about it. Iam going to get some deli meat to take with me. Iam going to pre cook fish and chicken so I can take it for lunch I will have my husband cook when I do not want too because he is the better cook. I have to do this for myself and my family. I have to prolong my life. I want to be able to look in the mirror and be at least satisfied by what I see. I believe I am 240 pounds. Damn. The great thing is I have the message board. You all do not hold back. You reprimand, you praise, but through it all you always SUPPORT. I love you guys. You make me want to succeed. :sadblinky :sadblinky :no

Be sure not to look down on yourself, or think of it as a failure. A setback is all it is and now its time to hit the wall running and in the words of my peers, "Shake those haters off"!

:hug Welcome back, it maybe a long path, but its also one less traveled. Its time to stand outside the group, to stand up and be counted....to climb the ladder to weight loss victory!

        you are still making progress

You can look in the mirror right now and be delighted with the beautiful spunky woman you see.

You deserve credit for being honest with yourself and planning your menus. For not giving up or being in denial. You have every reason to be proud of yourself.

There is always going to be a personal crisis of one kind or another to deal with in life. It just comes with the territory of being human.

But we don't have to lose our Atkins when we undergo stress. In fact, Atkins can be the one thing that keeps us together during stressful times.

Atkins can be our rock if we allow it to be.

I know you can dedicate yourself to this WOL!

I just want to address what you said in your sig line...This WOE does not have to be expensive. Ground beef seems expensive because we buy it in big packages, but if you look at the price per serving, it is low.

I like to buy 10lb packages of chicken hindquarters (they are great baked). I always get them for at the most, 37 cents per pound. That's a steal!

Beware of deli meat! It is expensive and many times you don't know if there are hidden sugars and we all know they are loaded with sodium.

I don't believe in the statement: "carb-laden foods are cheaper." Sure they would be if you ate canned sauce with that cheap spaghetti (but most people add meat). This example can be applied with other meals too. When you eat high carb, don't you usually add meat?

Don't even get me started on all the high carb convenience foods that we tend to buy on high carb--$$$$$!

My mom once taught me that if we only buy fresh and avoid all the prepackaged junk, we would make out like bandits with our pocketbooks and health.

I hope you go on Atkins and stay, you won't be sorry!!! ha

            Amen Tabekat!!

Our Atkins WOE is the one place we CAN control when everything else in our life is out of control. We can't stop our family being ill, or work going bad on us or even the weather when we had planned a barbeque but it is raining cats and dogs - but we CAN stop going off our Atkins. :yes
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
