Okay here we go, my best friend lost 95 pounds on Atkins and has been trying to help me to make it through induction. This will be my second time trying. I need lots of help. I finally figured out about an hour ago that I am not starving like I thought, I am withdrawing . I feel miserable. I did not realize how sugar and carbs had a hold of me. I am after all a junk food junkie.Anyone with advice on how to make it through this first few days would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello verbmac :wave
Welcome to
ha
One tip I would give you would be to plan your eating so you don't find yourself hungry and without Induction-friendly food to eat.
Also make sure you have water handy so you can drink your minimum (64 ounces plus an extra 8 ounces for every 25 pounds you want to lose)
Exercise is part of the Atkins way of eating (WOE) so plan how you are going to do yours.
Happy AtkineeringWondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Hi and welcome. I agree with Elizellen. Planning really helps. Clearing your house out of stuff that might tempt you and is not on the acceptable list can be helpful. Keep your DANDR nearby and think about how much you want to make this change. You can do it and we're here to help you along the way!

you can do it!
welcome verbmac. my advice, like others before me - when you get cravings, eat something healthy. make a mock danish or eat something crunchy like jicama. and be sure to add fish to your menus. fish is just a wonderful food and adds such nice variety to my day.
know that once ketosis kicks in your cravings will dissapate. after 2 - 3 weeks in ketosis you won't require willpower to stay faithful to the Atkins program. it will honestly be the way you wish to eat.

Believe me, there isn't a success story on this board (mine included) who couldn't relate to what you said. We've ALL been there.I did not realize how sugar and carbs had a hold of me. I am after all a junk food junkie.
But the GREAT NEWS IS: In just a day or two you will feel better than you ever thought possible!
Hang tough .. Sugar is mean demon, but by starving it, you will SLAY it forever!
YOU CAN DO IT!
