  • Prescription Meds Containing Caffeine During Induction?

I am 42 years old and in perimenopause. I have hideous headaches during the last 2 weeks of my cycle. I take a prescription med called Esgic for the headaches and it contains acetaminphin (sp?), caffeine and a mild sedative. How much is this going to mess me up during induction?

I did Atkins last year and lost 20+ pounds in about 12 weeks. But I fell off the wagon when my mother in law became ill then died. I'm looking forward to doing this again and hopefully reaching my goal weight by the end of the year.

You have to look after your health, and if that involves taking something with a bit of caffiene in it, then so be it, if it's prescribed by your doctor. If possible, ask your doctor if he/she can give you something caffiene free if it'll do the same as what you are currently taking.

I'm thinking that it's probably not a huge amount in there (do some surfing and compare what you are taking to what a cup of coffee contains) so you may not need to be concerned about this.
