  • So I went to the gym, and shopped, AND cooked!

Right, been going to the gym for about 2 weeks now, and Pre-Atkins I'd been on my own silly low-calorie diet (nightmare!) and I would go shopping at ASDA for things like low fat yoghurt, lots of fruit and those awful (good for you!) range of ready meals cos I would rather microwave my food.
Anyhow, after gym I trotted of to ASDA with my list of acceptable foods, and was really enjoying all the shopping!
It was great just picking up stuff without having to read labels, like so easy cook beef steaks, lamb chops, chicken thighs and prawns. Got some acceptable salad veg, and some mayonnaise and butter. Also bought a really cheap (£1) kitchen scale to weigh my veg with.
Came back home and thought I'd try cooking for the first time in my life (no joke, never ever cooked). Cut up 100g of mushrooms (already had a bit of lettuce for lunch earlier) and got 2 nice pieces of steak. Popped them in the pan (with some olive oil) and let them cook. Made some prawn mayonnaise on a half avocado (as Dr Atkins enjoyed!) and finally cracked 2 eggs on top of my steak/mushroom thingie and I was done!
It all took about 10 minutes, and I hope it didn't break any rules. It was really satisfying to eat and I'm now sipping a cup of decaf nescafé :joy
Only problem is that this is so good it feels like cheating. I should stop thinking of cheating as too many calories, and just enjoy the food and WOE!

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to share my great experience this evening with everyone else!

I'm glad you're enjoying youself and cooked a great healthy 1st meal.

Dont use the scale to measure your veggies. Us a one cup measuring cup. I use my scale to measure only cheese.
