Okay I know one day isn't huge but it is one day of pure Atkins induction!! I am happy and feeling stronger today. Headache is a bit less intense, and seems to be responding better to pain meds. I should add in here that headaches are normal for me even when not on induction. I am an avid headache sufferer...at least 3 or 4 times a week. So I keep telling myself that even though this headache is a bit worse and doesn't respond as well to pain meds at least once it goes away there is a good chance I won't suffer from them as much since I am sure my eating habbits definately contributed to them.

Way to go Shay!!! :joy One day down is HUGE!! Keep it up--hang in there. When you are feeling up to it, get some movement in there. Put on a song and dance around with your little guys. Just one song, 5 min tops. Use adrenaline as your new "addiction". Keep reading the boards, all of these success stories started in the same place as you. Most all atkineers had the "flu" but they got thru it and so can you. (I am a poet and didn't know it!! LOL) Goooooooo Shay!!! :dancing

Shay,
I'll say one thing about headaches. I used to get them all the time. Note the word used to. I would get between 4-6 headaches a week with 2-3 migraines a year. I have extra strength excedrin in every vehicle, my desk, and my briefcase. I even have a little case that fits in my pocket. I would by the stuff in the 500 count bottle and burn through 2-3 of those a year.
In the past year, since I started Atkins, I can count on one hand the number of headaches I've had. And those were only after cheats. I am absolutely convinced (although I never discussed it with my doctor) that my headaches were related to my carb intake and the associated blood sugar swings associated with that.
I only hope you have the same experience regarding headaches as I have.
BTW, my most significant induction flu symptom was lightheadedness and a mild headache.Jim

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?

Dr. Atkins talks about headaches and other illness related to food allergies in DANDR 2002.
They did studies on kids where they removed certain foods from their diets and after a while they found every food that bothered every child lol!
Food allergies can cause all kinds of joint pains, fatigue, headaches, ect.
You might be suprised what other body nags you might get over by being on induction.335/265/230
