  • Johnny here!!

    Hi Everyone!

Let me apolgize for any disturbances I made on the board over the water thread that I posted. Moochiecat is a very cool lady and so sorry to have put her on the spot....she did what any great moderator would do..

I am pretty stubborn and bull headed at times but I love this forum and all the great people on here. I would be lost with out you guys!! So please accept me back and let's move on!!

I did go to rehab Friday and they had a different lady weigh me and see was not sure how to work the computerized scale and it showed me up 1.4lbs so not sure bu it don't bother me at all....I am remaining focused and I know I am eating better than I have in a long time and beginning to feel better already.

The head physical therapist and me got into quite a discussion on Atkins while at rehab...She is dead against this program and said it was not good for my heart or muscles...We went at it pretty good...I wish I could have defended this program better but I did the best I could...

She finally said to keep on doing what I was doing but to eat lean red meat and don't eat any meats with fat on it......lol

I told her I can't believe the difference in opinions at this hospital between her and my doctor...Well she came off as some sort of expert and told me as much but I said that don't make you smarter than me....she did laugh over that one and said I was a smart man...

I also walked for about a half mile on the treadmill Wednesday for a half hour.

Anyway I am back to stay and to give you all a big hug.....I had a long talk with one of our members~ and convinced me to come back.

I did not do this perfectly I will be the first to admit I ate way more veggies and way less fat but still kept carbs low low and my energy and water intake high....no white anything for me except egg whites!!!! no flour no sugar no pasta :sadblinky ...and no rice....nothing refined ...on induction I stuck with the list however!!! and for induction I think that is the best thing ...stick with the rules ...if you are not on a real/strict induction than do whatever feels right!!!!....

                        Illegitimi Non Carborundum

Good work, MontanaRebel. :hug When I was first starting Atkins, I was a little shy about saying anything more to friends and acquaintances than, "Oh, I'm avoiding sugar."

However, I found that the closer I was to making goal (and especially the longer I remain at goal), the more specific I become about being an Atkins follower rather than merely saying that I low-carb, or just watch my sugar & bread intake. It is unfortunate that many successful Atkins followers are skittish and still tend to tiptoe around the issue of the program they follow, which, in my opinion, only perpetuates this very circumspection.

Atkins is very slowly but surely becoming a conventional way of eating. In fact, while they sure did in 2001, people don't even flinch when I tell them I am an Atkins follower - and really, why would they? Given all the benefits of this salubrious lifestyle is becoming known for more and more as the years progress, the fact that I'm on Atkins actually serves to explain a lot. :yes I urge you all to allow it do the same for you, because you are doing so well!! The progress on here is just astounding.

While nobody is actually entitled to know something as personal as your eating plan, for something so salubrious as the Atkins lifestyle, why not spread the word? If you feel an argument might ensue, simply don't allow it to. State very briefly and concisely what Atkins has done for you and drop it - and let the person take with it what they will. Ultimately, you will be doing an unimaginable service for the individual, as it just might make them stop and think. After one too many convincings from successful Atkins followers, it THANKFULLY did for me!
