Are you making sure you subtract the fiber grams? To do this, you need to set a nutritional goal under the "Goals" section of fitday. Select Dietary Fiber, and then put in any range values. Once you do this, the fiber will show up on the main page, so you can deduct it from your total carbs.
The other possible explanation is that you might be adding pre-prepared foods from the fitday list that have extra ingredients. For example: I make my own coleslaw with green & red cabbage, mayo, a little vinegar, and a dash of splenda. If I enter coleslaw from fitday, it's giving me a recipe that is made with a ton of sugar. So, whenever possible I enter in my own ingredients instead of using the stock foods that fitday offers.

If you havent done this before, eireanngobrach, just click on the 'home' tab when you are on www.fitday.com and scroll down to the bottom and click on the 'make journal public' button.
Then copy the link they give you and paste it here.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Okat I admit I haven't been keeping track on paper of whT I have eaten these last 6 days , but it is similar to what I entered on fitday plus a salad at lunchtime usually with chicken on it. I feel like I am eating a lot of carbs. The last time I did this diet I had problems even eating 20 g and now I keep squeaking over. It's kind of frustrating!!!!!!

I just looked at your menu and it needs some tweaking.
Firstly, aspartame is NOT allowed...on page 128 of DANDR there's a list of acceptable sweeteners and we are told to avoid aspartame.
2 cups of gelatin? Remember that Induction is a time to start learning to eat differently, and get rid of our old eating habits...time to tame that sugar monster! ( and is the gelatin sweetened with aspartame?)
Your soda contains caffiene, which we are advised to avoid, and also, what is being used to sweeten it?
We are allowed 3 servings of sweetener a day, and I'm thinking you might have gone over.
I just see one cup of veggies in there....we need to have 3.
Have you read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, version 2002 (DANDR for short)?
So, make a few changes...refresh yourself on the Rules of Induction and the Acceptable Foods list and go for it! :joy

Hi gocat :wave
If you look at the piechart for calories burned you will see coloured segments giving what fitday calculates you have used according to your height/weight and lifestyle.
One segment is called 'basal' and it is the equivalent to bmr - the calories you expend just living and breathing. You ought to be eating more calories than that if you are watching calories.
But in induction you dont really need to worry about calories - concentrate on your carbs and your ratios - we try to get 65% fat/30% protein/5% carbs.
I noticed your's so far on the 5th shows about 50% protein - too high!
BTW I also saw the on 4th you had a cup of milk - not allowed on induction, you can have cream and water it down to a drinkable consistency if you like. Milk is allowed once you get to the dairy rung of OWL.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
