    question about NET carbs...

ok I am slightly confused...I know if a label has carbs, then fiber, then sugar alcohols you subtract fiber and sugar alcohols from the carbs...but on most of my labels I don't see sugar alcohols..they look like this for example:
    Carbs 6
    Fiber 1
    Sugars 2

But I think the sugars are sugar alcohols, since they are under the carbs, like the fiber and sugars are both indented under the carbs...so are these sugars really sugar alcohol? Just need some clarification! thanks

It is more likely that the sugars are natural sugar like in tomatoes etc.
Look at the list of ingredients. If it has SAs they will be listed there - here is a link to a post about them which lists some.

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

oh thanks for the link! the item in question was some spaghetti sauce...i put it over some chicken with some cheese on top for lunch...it had like 20g of carbs, but like 2 of them were fibers and 14 were "sugers" under the carbs...so I might have screwed up, I may have to eat spinach and fish the rest of the day lol.

I read that post...but it never really answered my question...am still very unclear if sugars under the carbs count as sugar alcohols or not.
        Here is an example:

would you subtract those sugars or not?
**notice how they are BOTH indented under carbohydrates

I would not subtract the sugars from the carb counts..only the fiber.

Look at the actual ingredients. It's spaghetti sauce, so I'm sure it's just regular sugar.

I'm not certain, but I think you'll ~generally~ only find sugar alcohols in items that are low carb diet related.
