  • Another Water question

I need to know something. I'm having a hard time drinking my water at the moment, and my MIL turned me onto this:

I don't do what the directions says, just use one of the packets in 64 oz of water. Am I not suppose to do this on Induction?? Or can I??

It does make it easier to drink plenty of water.

Only water counts as water. A slice of lemon or cucumber in it can freshen it up, :yes but putting a drink mix in it makes it something other than water.
Induction is a time to cleanse your system of all things processed and get back to eating fresh natural foods so you can see how fast or slow your metabolism is (page 158 of DANDR....

What sweetener is used in it? What are the ingredients? Are they on the Acceptable Foods list?
Perhaps after the first two weeks you can re-evaluate and see if you can have it then, but again, water flavoured with that does not go towards your daily water count.

It doens't count toward your daily water intake unless it is "just water" as far as I know.. And if I remember correctly, I think that it has aspartame in it too, which Dr A cautions us to avoid.

Try drinking your water with a slice of lemon or cucumber in it..alot of folks say that it helps them. For me, my 120 oz a day have to be at room temp for me to drink them.

        wow...great minds think alike! lol

(Dr. Atkins list of recommended sweeteners is on page 128 of DANDR btw and yes, aspartame is a no-no)

Come join us on the Keepin' it Pure Challenge! We're doing the pure, clean induction that is aimed to change your tastes / needs. Maybe by the end of two weeks you will become a water addict? (It is possible; I used to hate the stuff when I was little and now I can't live without it, lots of it!)

Oh no! Don't feel that you've been doing badly or have to start over! Unless you've deviated from the Rules of Induction you're fine!! Just come join us for the rest of your Induction, however long that may be! Follow the index down to the miscellaneous boards, I think, and click on Challenges. We're under Keepin it Pure.

You don't need to start over on Induction, just make sure you do everything right from this moment on. We screw up all the time, we just have to deal with it!

It's true what others have said, the water does get easier. I'm at the point now, after only 3.5 weeks, that my body craves water. I used to barely drink any water, but I'd drink like 3 20 oz. diet cokes a day. Now I can't imagine doing that.
