Ok today I skipped breakfast (bad i know!) But my tummy was hurting so I guess there is my lame excuse..for lunch I had a chicken caesar salad (5 net carbs total) and I didn't eat again until dinner...I made these egg mcmuffin type things (with no english muffin) that had sausage, egg, cheese, and bacon and that was 3 net carbs total...so here's my problem...I am full and only had 8 net carbs today!! Are there any higher carb induction safe foods i could eat to make up for the other 12? I am not hungry, but might be before bed, so preferably something carb-dense that i wont have to eat a lot of but is safe for induction! Any ideas??

You don't need to eat 20 g of carbs a day, you eat UP TO 20 g's. dont eat just to get your carb count up if you are not hungry.

Also it's really not a good idea to skip meals. I'd recommend 5 smaller meals all day rather than just eating twice. When you don't eat regularily it messes with your insulin levels.

Sadie's right.. don't worry about hitting 20g. BUT, you should be worried about getting all your veggies in! I don't know how many cups of lettuce were in the salad, but you shouldn't be eating all your veggies in one sitting if at all possible.

You asked for suggestions.. so here's my favorite:

celery stuffed with cream cheese. Celery has about 1 net carb per stalk, so 2 or 3 stalks with cream cheese will give you about 3-5 net carbs. There's something about eating this at night. I think I like the crunch because it makes it feel real snacky!

You can always add some veggies to your other foods too, like throw a tomato slice on your egg mcmuffin thing.

i know i know...the reason i didnt have any is bc i had to go to the store to get more, they dont seem to keep well...but I got some new spinach, tomatoes, onions, anc cauliflower...that is about all i like in the veggie dept...
I could have sworn somewhere I read we needed to be getting all 20 carbs a day but no more.

I had a hard time EVER hitting 20g during induction. My average was about 13. When I moved to owl, I'm still only eat 18. The things you need to get in for sure are the veggies and the water.

Are you eating a MINIMUM of 3 cups veggies a day? Sorry to sound hard but I find it impossible, even eating 3 cups spinach, to not be less than 10g carbs. You didn't mention any veggies at dinner, plus skipping breakfast doesn't help with your carb count.

I find that when I am sticking to Induction strictly eating my 3 cups veg, some dressing, add a couple of eggs, maybe a bit of cheese to snack on, my carb totals at least 13g - sounds like you haven't eaten enough.

Do what Sadie suggests - if you're not hungry, eat smaller meals but make sure you don't let your blood sugar levels drop coz you're not eating often enough

I know I need to work on the veggies, I used to NEVER eat veggies...I mean NEVER...now I am getting about 1-2 cups a day, today is the least amount i have had since induction. I don't like many veggies, so right now I am limited to tomatos, onions, cauliflower, and spinach. And I'd like to add that before I started induction I had never eaten any of those vegetables...so I think I am doing good so far!
