  • Day 14 And the results are in....

OK it's day 14 i'v lost about 8-9 pounds with very little exercise (i know, i'm working on doing regular exercise it's hard ot get moivated). Which i'm ok with.

I think 'm going to stay on extended induction for a while i feel great on it.

    Just a few questions:

    1. Ketostix, does it matter whether you use the the breath or urinalysis kind because everyone seems to be talking about the breath one and i've only got the urinalysis ones?

    2. How important is exercise really?

    3. Is there a better time of day to exercise i.e morning, noon, night?

Anyway gonna keep up with the plan as i feel so great now, no afternoon tiredness, no caffeine addiction, i'm thinking more clearly and i'm less moody.

    Guy.

Good job on the 9 pounds! :joy

I've only ever heard about the urinalysis ones...the breath one is new to me. The only breath test I know of is cupping your hand over your mouth and checking it yourself. :confused
It's not even necessary to use the ketostix, but you may have already read this.

    2. How important is exercise really?
It depends on how you want your body to be in the long run. Would you like to be toned with as little saggy skin as possible? or would you like to look like a deflated balloon?
The choice is up to you.
I had a really difficult time getting into regular exercise, and I'm paying the piper now because I've lost many months of time where I could have been toning and building muscle while I was losing. I don't recommend it..it's not pretty.

    3. Is there a better time of day to exercise i.e morning, noon, night?
I've done all three, and there are benefits and drawbacks to all of them. Morning is great, because it's just done and over with and you don't have to worry about it. But getting up early makes me tired earlier.
Noon is great...I like it best, but I'm not able to go in the middle of the day sometimes due to work.
Night is hardest for me because at the end of the day I'm winding down and at my lowest energy...but I still feel great when I'm done as long as I have a good long cooldown period at the end of it.
    It's up to you.

I had those same benefits as well...good job, and keep on keeping on!! :joy

Exercise is not only important for being toned but it's integral to your overall health. We need a strong heart and lungs.

Moochie & Isabeau said it all!

NO EXCUSE NOT TO EXERCISE. ITS NON-NEGOTIABLE!!!

YOU CAN LOSE WEIGHT ANY NUMBER OF WAYS, BUT YOU'LL NEVER KEEP IT OFF WITHOUT EXERCISE.

Not only that, but 30 minutes a day of cardiovascular exercise combined with resistance training will increase your energy level, your stamina, help you sleep, make you more agile, build muscle mass, burn more calories, lower your cholesterol, lower your blood pressure, improve your mood, and boost your metabolism.

Commit to it for 2 weeks and see if I'm not right! Atkins and exercise is a powerful combination!!

You see, the problem I've always had with that was, I wasn't sure if it was my breath that stunk or my hand?

              hehe

Great job on the 9 lbs!!!

I am exercise-intolerant :raving but even I can get out and at least walk at some point in the day. It isn't much yet but I figure a little is better than none, so maybe you could try doing the same and starting small?

                Keep up the good work!

Just to say that I was a massive couch potato. Just before starting atkins I decided to cut my calories and exercise. Forced myself to go to the gym every day, and after a week or so I look forward to it so much!
All you gotta do is take a deep breath, join a local gym and just pop in, with your favourite music playing in your walkman/ipod/etc, and that's it!
Nowadays, each day I do 10 minutes cross-trainer, 10 minutes treadmill, 10 minutes bike, and 1000m on the rowing machine.
If I could do it, anyone in the world could!

                    Good luck!
