I’m on day 2 of the induction and I’m not doing that well, I feel like I have been awake all night, I’m having trouble keeping my eyes open. I thought doing Atkins was supposed to give me a new lease of life and make me feel rejuvenated, if it does that great but at the moment that’s the last thing on my mind, I just want to get through the day without falling asleep at my desk.

Some people find when they start to 'detox' their body from starches, sugar, caffeine etc that they feel bad for a few days :hug
Usually if you can stick to induction it will pass.
This feeling is often referred to as 'induction flu' as it affects people in the same was as influenza can.
If you do a search on flu (search box at the top of the page) you will find many people's experiences of this.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Thanks for the response Elizellen, I realised there would be some changes but didn't expect this. Also I didn't expect it to happen as quickly, I did read a few things on here mentioning what vitamins I should take that should help. I'm currently taking multivitamins at the moment, but I did see something in Tesco's the other day, it was a complete 14 day vitamin pack for people doing the Atkins induction I was tempted to get that but wasn't sure if it was a bit of a waste.
Anyway, I'va managed to stay clear of the coffee all morning, so I reckon I'll be able to stay clear for the afternoon as well.

I still felt like crap on day 7 and I was really questioning what I was doing, but the aches and tiredness finally went away and I felt back to myself by the time the two weeks was up.
Just remember, that when your body has dealt with all the withdrawal etc, it's over and done with, but it will pass.

I see you are taking a multi, but you should consider taking minerals as well. The diuretic effect of Induction will deplete you of vital minerals, so you would be wise to take calcium, magnesium and potassium. A depletion of potassium especially will make you tired. It happened to me and I decided to take a supplement. I felt much better.

Hang in there, it does get better. I moaned and moaned at the very beginning do to tiredness and headaches...tummy aches...but it all went away and you feel much better. Someone told me the worse you feel the more addicted you were to sugars and carbs.Shay

Should I expect any big differences
I was wondering if I should expect to see any big differences between when I started the induction and the end of the 14 days, I have read the posts and understand that if my weight doesn't go down I shouldn't worry as I could still be losing fat just not the weight. But I just wondered how everyone else did during the induction period??

This will depend on how much weight you have to lose. If you would post your info in your profile we can better assist with these types of questions.
ensive
Most people lose 5-10% of the total amount they want to lose. ex- If you have 100lbs to lose you can reasonably expect to lose 5-10lbs during the 14 day induction period. This varies greatly from person to person. Factors include height, age, level of physical activity etc. Good Luck and keep us posted!!
