  • Is this normal??

So I ever since I started induction--I am on day 4-- I have been absolutely exhausted, to the point where I took a 5 hour nap on Monday, and a three hour nap today. This is an example of a typical menu for me--avocado and crab/tuna salad, i celery stick with cheese spread, steak or chicken breast with spinach for dinner. I have been occasionally having a diet soda--but not even finishing a whole one. I due have a very busy schedule, I keep up with 0-5yr olds all day and go to school as well. What do you guys think, is this normal?

    absolutly

This is quite normal as the toxins in your system are being released to be expelled. Sometimes called induction flu. That means your body is readjusting to the lack of carbs and using fats instead.

Keep going and drink lots of water to flush the bad stuff out.

that tiredness can be part of what we call induction flu. you don't give amounts you ate but you are missing those 3 cups of veggies and lots of water in your list.

Hang in there and your energy levels should pick up as your body adjusts its chemicals to handle the fats as fuel and not carbs as fuels load it now has. you need more transporters, intermediary step fracturers, helping molecules and reaction sites in your cells and some do it faster then others.

if you arer deficient in some basic vits and minerals you will need to get those going too as they serve a role in the reactions too.

      Happy low carbing.

I had exactly the same problem, I started Atkins on Monday and I have had times during this week where I could hardly keep my eyes open. But since getting some advice on this forum regarding the multivitamins and minerals I should be taking I haven't ben to bad.

I have been drinking loads of water as well (I cam really close to having a coffee the other day because I was that tired, but felt guilty after making it so didn't drink it) I think my boss is getting worried though, I've been frequenting the toilets a lot more than usual this week!!

You don't say quantities, but looking at that makes me think you're not eating enough. How much spinach? 1 stick of clerey is not a cup's worth of veggies and you want 3 a day. What are you having for breakfast, lunch AND dinner? Do you use Fitday to track your foods? Are you drinking your water? Are you taking your vitamins? Look at all of these things.
