    Hi. My name is Shane, and I'm a carboholic.

    I'm new here, and started my Atkins plan 13 days ago. I have cheated a few times, but have managed to drop 14 pounds.
    This was primarily done in the first 10 days. Over last 4 days I have only lost 2 pounds, and wondering if it is normal to slow down.
    I have introduced Caffiene free DIet coke to my diet, and alos wondering if this could cause slow down.
    I appreciate any help you all could give.

    congratulations on your induction loss :clapping

    You are right on both counts
    Lots of inductioneers lose a large amount the first week which slows down the next week. People also find their losses come in fits and starts, so dont worry if you see no results for several weeks later on your Atkins journey. :hug
    Here is an interesting thread called 'weightloss is not linear' which reassures most people worried about this.


    We should be avoiding aspartame which I think is the sweetener used in diet coke as it is a known 'staller'

        Hello Shane, Misty here :wave .

        I do believe you and I have the same problem. I didn't cheat, but I did drink some diet coke and ever since my scale has not budged at all :yikes :yikes. Its those darn sweeteners in it!! Cursed things lol.

        So I plan to stick with my induction, cause I am seeing results and drink water galore...not to the point of drowning myself!! I've lost 10 lbs so far in the first 8 days. And you've lost 14!! SO stick with it hun, just rid yourself of those diet sodas.
