  • have i messed up?

i am on day 7 of induction. iv done really well but i need help.
am i allowed to eat 20g of anything? if i eat meant and cheese all day, is a 20g biscuit allowed because it is stil the same amount of carbs as 20g of veg?
Yesterday i ate 5 grams of carbs, today i ate 25! does that even out or have i messed that up?
Can i have diet drinks because on bottles of diet coke it says no carbs? is the reason for not having sweet things to prevent cravings?
Am i allowed to have a sugar free cup of tea, with 5g of milk?

answers to these quetions would be very helpful. thank you!

If you don't know the answer to this then you probably haven't been doing induction correctly at all. No, biscuits are not allowed on induction. Please don't subsitute biscuits for your veggies. :nono This diet is about more than simply eating meat and cheese.

No, you haven't messed up, but you shouldn't try saving up carbs to use at another time. While in the induction phase, aim for 20 grams of carbs per day.

Diet drinks are discouraged during induction. If you must, drink only the ones containing Splenda and limit the sweetener to 3 servings per day. The most important drink that you need is water. At least 64 oz. each and every day.

No milk during induction. You can have a limited amount of cream.

You need to read the book before you can do this plan correctly and read the stickies on this board. Do yourself a huge favor and buy a copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, the 2002 edition.

You won't regret it. Good luck with your weight loss journey! :wave

      livvy... hey... welcome...

get the book... or at least go print the 'rules of induction' from www.atkins.com

      good luck....

and you know... there's a few 'mistakes' some individuals find they can make... or choose to make to be able to stick with this plan.... Lord knows I've made a few of them..... and I'm seeing inches go.... and pounds slowly go...

so.... read the rules....and try to learn and improve every day...

        Hello Livvy :wave
As has been said, induction rules do not allow you to eat something 'not on the list' even if you have some of your 'up to 20 carbs' uneaten.
You must not skip veggies - we are supposed to get at least half of our allowed carbs from our veggies on induction.
Btw you may not have realised eggs and cheese and some meats contain a small amount of carbs, so even without veggies you are eating some carbs :yikes
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
