While at college, I to put it lightly sucked at this diet. It was really hard at school. But, last summer I got it to work for me, and I want to do it again now! I had to get my tonsils out at the beginning of this summer, and coudn't eat much of anything for about 6 days. Well, I lost about 10 pounds, and I DO NOT want to put them back on. I have eaten anything I wanted for the past few days to get some nutrients and to get my body used to food again. The weight is started to come back on, so here I am. My throat is fine, I swallow pretty much anything again, and I'm ready to do atkins. I would like to lose about 15 more pounds and keep off what I alreadly lost. I used to be addicted to this sight and everyones encouragement. I think it's great. I could really use some now.

    me again

I also have a question I forgot to post it in my first message. How many calories should I be eating. I know you aren't technically supposed to count calories on Atkins, but it's just something I do and it's hard not to because I use Fitday. I don't like to eat too many, but I'd like to know a ballpark number so I can do this diet right

It is generally accepted that when on a weightloss stage of Atkins (induction, OWL, pre-maintenance - you are going to do all of those, aren't you :yes ) we should eat above our BMR (= basal in fitday) and below our AMR (=total calories burned in fitday)
For me that is between 1400 and 2300. I tend to average about 1650.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
