  • Went off plan...2nd time around!!!

Hey Everyone! I am sure you have heard this a million times as I have heard just the same. I can't believe I am actually writing this myself BUT I have fallen "off the wagon!" I am not too proud of this statement actually. I was doing fine for about 19 days straight then I went out of town for work and didn't stick to plan and now 10 days later I am still not back on target. I am starting Day 1 tomorrow and WILL stick to it this time.

Do you guys have any recommendations that will allow me to get the same results I did the first time on Induction? I am assuming I should probably just exercise everyday and drinks A LOT of water.

Did you guys have pretty good results your second time on Induction or was it much slower progression?

Hope to hear from all of you!!

You are not alone. I've been trying to get back on after many months of being off and it's tough! Here are some things to try:

    1. Always make sure you have access to a high protein high fat snack. Eat it as soon as you start to crave a carb. It really does work!

    2. Keep posting on this board. When I was in an accident and couldn't get on the computer, I lost my lifeline. Since then, I've tried to restart induction and failed, largely because I didn't have this board. Now I'm back and ready to rumble.

    3. Avoid situations where you will be tempted to cheat. If this means you can't go out with friends for two weeks, then don't. If it means you and your friends have to change what you do when you go out, then do that.

    4. Always eat before you leave the house! I swear, I have gotten in more trouble by not having a snack before I leave, then spying a burrito, and not being able to resist!

    5. Spread your carbs out over the course of the day. Don't eat it all at once.

You can do it! I know I can, because I did it last year and lost 40 lbs and about 50 inches!

Thanks for the advice, Finelly! So how far along are you on this WOE? Are you still on Induction? Do you exercise? Have you found it to be less effective the more times you restart this WOE?

Well yes - this happens many times.

Do not feel bad though. I had just started induction 2 weeks ago and well I fell off the plan too.

I was doing good for the first week and then one excuse turned in to another and well here I am again. Starting over.

I was quite disappointed with myself but okay I am passed that now.

I have started again and today (Monday 6/20) is my new start date.

Best of luck with your re-start.

Yes lots of water will help. I'm doing this too. I'm writing down all the water to make sure I drink plenty.

I also borrowed Slim in 6 videos from a friend and have started those. Yes you get sore but she had great success with them - so I am giving them a shot.

        Again good luck.

How long have you been "off the wagon". If you just messed up one day, just start the next day, no need to start induction all over again. If you plan to stay on extended induction then just continue.

Figure out why you fell off, and then work on fixing that problem.

          Welcome back! and good luck!

Probably selfish to say but it is somewhat comforting to see I am not the only one that has fallen off, only I have been off for about 6 months :yikes but I am starting back today! Great advise Finelly, Thanks for posting it.

You might not have noticed our new forum especially for people in the same boat.
Called the Second Time Around Club and set up recently on request it is a good place to post and participate with others who have fallen off the Atkins wagon and are having a hard time climbing back on and staying for the ride.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Since December, I've tried to start 3 times. The weight does not come off as quickly, which is why this time I've decided not to weigh for 2 weeks. HOWEVER......I almost immediately start feeling fantastic. Far less bloated, more energy. No induction flu - but then, I didn't have it the first time around.

I started INduction again yesterday with a buddy and came back onto the board, which I alreay think is super helpful.

I work out every day. Cardio and weights 5 days a week, aquaaerobics or yoga the other days. I'm thinking of getting a pedometer because I would like to make sure I take 5,000 steps per day!

i just love this forum, i'm a fan of the '2nd time around' board but was gripped by your comments on here.

You guys are the best and I can't agree more with the sentiment that this forum is the biggest lifeline of all, so inspiring ! and that's why i feel so very committed this time around.
