  • Hello all! New to the board!

    Hello everybody, I am new to the board, but not new to Atkins!

    I guess I should give a little background on myself:

    I am 29 now and probably weight 250 (I hold it pretty well as I have alot of muscle from my bodybuilding days) but it's time to get back into shape.

    I stumbled across the Atkins book around 7 years ago (before all the hype) it was actually a book I found in my parents basement from 1979. So at the time I was about 205 or so, and I decided to bet all my friends that I could get a six pack in a month (after reading the book I was very confident, LOL) anyway, I dropped 20-25pounds in that month and was able to pull off a very nice 4 pack (the last two are always the hardest), I hope that wasn't toooooo boring, LOL.

    So it's time to get back to the atkins lifestyle, and get back into some smaller clothes.

    I took the first step and did some grocery shopping, here is what I was able to grab.

    Eggs, bacon
    sausage, salami
    chicken wings, sardines
    marble cheese, cream cheese
    butter, celery, tomato, onion
    can of spinage, can of crabmeat
    mayo, carb select ice tea
    blue cheese and ceasar dressing
    olives, mustard, chicken wing sause

    Just basic stuff I guess!

    Anyway, I read alot of threads this morning, GREAT BOARD!

        Make sure to update yourself and get Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, version 2002 (DANDR for short). It's different from the 70's copy, and that's what we follow on this website.

        Pick up a good variety of veggies off the Acceptable Foods list :yes , refamiliarize yourself with the Rules of Induction and off you go! :icondance
