      Hi.

      A few questions...

      1. When did you start?
      2. What was your start weight, current weight, goal weight?
      3. How tall are you?
      4. Are you male or female?
      5. Post a couple of your menues.

We'll need that information in order to answer your question better.

I second posting a menu, and read the stickys here. I thought I knew how to do Atkins from a skim of the book originally...turned out I didn't know as much as I thought and there are alot on here that know this information inside out, and backwards! One thing there is no denying...the ones that have had great success have followed the program closely.

This morning I put on my work clothes and my capri's are a little baggy - could this happen just over night? I am getting excited now!

          WOOOHOOO! :joy

I am following the diet, but in the 3rd week, I ate some "carb almost free" candy. I wonder if that had something to do with it?

            "carb almost free" candy

I'm assuming you're on induction since you posted in this forum. This is absolutely a NO NO on induction. Do you have the book? (DANDR)

I encourage you to post a few days of your menus. Are you exercising? Taking supplements? Drinking gallons of water? Help us help you :nod

I was on the induction for 2 1/2 weeks, didn't lose a pound. You see, this is my 2nd time on this diet - unfortunately, I gained my weight back. I am not going to do that again!
Into my 3rd week, I ate that candy. Today makes 4 1/2 weeks, just keeping my carbs below 30 - 35 and no more candy or diet soda.
I drink water all day long, 2 cups of coffee a day.
I haven't been taking my vitamins lately and haven't had time to exercise, other than mowing the grass and spring cleaning the house.
No, I don't have the book. I haven't weighed myself either.

no main menu, just eggs, meat, cheese, pork rinds, fish, shrimp

May I offer some friendly advice? I'm being very sincere and only trying to help :nod

Please get the book, 2002 or newer Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution. If nothing else, read the stickies at the top of the forum to see what is allowed on induction and what the rules are. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ic.php?t=66120
Induction carbs are to be 20 or below. If you're doing induction correctly, you will have a hard time getting much more than 15. It is encouraged to drop caffeine. Those 2 cups of coffee a day could be holding you back. What do you put in your coffee? At least switch to decaf if you can't give it up and use Splenda if you need a sweetner and heavy cream if you use cream.

Exercise is mandatory. Chores count but you need to be doing something to get your heart rate up. Can you fit in a 30 min walk?

Scales are not required unless you want a start weight and a goal weight. The measuring tape should be your best friend because it's the inches that really show your progress. A good read is this thread: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ic.php?t=66105

Once you have this knowledge, it might become clear as to why you have not lost anything, or very little. :sympathy and make sure you are :capital :capital :capital :capital :capital :capital :capital

I hope this helps. Good luck to you ha

If you do not eat the veggies, you will not lose the weight. Trust me on this one.

I don't know about you, but I want this weight off of me ASAP, and the advice you've been given here, namely to read the book, is the best advice you'll ever get.

Learn how to do Atkins correctly, and you've gotten yourself into a proven program.

You can also do it on your own, by your own rules, but there's no guarantee what sort of results you'll get from doing that. If you choose to do this, please post in the 'Low Carb other than Atkins' forum, ok?

You are missing out on valuable nutrients by not eating vegetables...please read the book and learn about Induction, and the Acceptable Foods list. The book will also explain the 'why' behind the plan as well, and that's really important to know. :yes

                          :icondance :whip

Well folks, I am crackin' the whip! I started taking my vitamins, started working out, and cut out the "junk" I am not suppose to have right now.
by the way, I am doing this the atkins way - all the way. Too many positive results to pass it by!
Now, I am expecting nothing but results!

OH, and I have been eating more veggies and yes I do :capital water, I am always thirsty, can't get enough!

Glad you're going for the good carbs! Regarding having results overnight, that's totally how it seems to go for me. I'll wake up one day and look suddenly dfferent.

I can't believe I went for 4 weeks, and nothing changed, now 2 days before I started doing this "the right way", I noticed my belly is a bit smaller.

I forgot that the 1st time I did this diet (oh so long ago) it took a month to, even then, to lose any weight :confused . I kept thinking nothing was going to work!
Well, I am sore from the workouts, but I know it will benefit me!
