  • Frustrated!

I am on day 11 today of induction. The first 6 days i lost 12 pounds! Awesome, right? Well, I was just getting over TOM also so that helped I am sure. My problem is days 7-11 nothing, even a 1.5 gain that is back down to original 12 lost, thank God.

I know, I have read that it is common to have no loss in second week due to your body readjusting, etc. I really do understand that this is probably completely normal, just frustrating. I would like to post my menu yesterday in case I am missing something.

B- 3 egg omelete with 2 slices of cheese and 2 slices of bacon (I was starving )

L - 2.5 cup of lettuce with grilled chicken, Creamy Caeser dressing and grated parm cheese

D - 5 jalepeno poppers (cream cheese, bacon - recipe from Linda's low carb site) Grilled chicken breast breaded with parm cheese, red pepper flakes, garlic and onion powder.

Snack - 3 oz cream cheese with splenda and cocoa powder
1/2 leftover grilled chicken from dinner

I am thinking that I am a little heavy on the cheese ensive but other than that, I drank over 100oz of water yesterday as well.

Please tell me that I am not screwing this up and that I am still on the right track for induction. I tend to get frustrated and give up and I do NOT want to do that this time. But I need to know that I am doing it right.

    Thanking you in advance,
    Kelly

Yep, a little heavy on the cream cheese and I would ease up on the bacon as well. Bacon is loaded with sodium and nitrates. I don't even eat bacon anymore (I overeat it if I do).

Maybe more veggies in place of just lettuce. Is that lettuce a dark green leafy type or iceberg? Iceberg has few nutrients. Perhaps a salad with green leaf, red leaf, romaine and spinach! YUM!

Ok, well, don't give up, you are doing fine!!

Thanks. None of that was enough to derail me then? I wasn't expecting to make the poppers that evening or I would not have had bacon in the morning!

Darn! I knew bacon has nitrates...same with deli meats....but, I did plan on having bacon play a stable role in my induction anyway....at this point, anything that will keep me away from the dreaded carbs is welcome! haha But I will certainly adjust that as I move along through the rungs...

            Thanks for the info.

Some people lose a ton in the first week of induction, and none or next to nothing the second. Some people lose nothing the first week, and a bunch the second. Others have it spread out the entire two weeks.

Almost everyone will slow down after the first two weeks and even have a "pause" for a week. Do NOT get frustrated! Weight loss is not linear and won't be a certain amount every time.

Are you measuring yourself? You should! Even when the scale isn't moving, your tape measure is! It's AMAZING!
