Re: Question about meat
4-6 ounces of meat is what the Atkins Center (when Dr. Atkins was still alive) considered to be a serving of meat for this WOE.Originally posted by pgioelloI am eating a 12 oz steak if not more for dinner...is this too much?
Out of curiosity, what else are you eating with this 12 ounce steak? The veggies you should be eating will help fill you up too.
Which brings me to another point...you only eat the amount of food to satisfy your hunger. "Satisfied" does not mean "stuffed" or "full". It means that you are no longer hungry and not overly full. If you can feel the weight of the food you have just eaten in your stomach, you've probably have eaten too much.

I've been known to do this. I only like filets because I don't like the nuisance of gristle. Otherwise, I ultimately only end up eating about half the steak because I'm not about to swallow a bunch of nasty cow cartilage! So, on my cruise last week, I'd order two sirloins if we were too hired to hit the fine dining and just wanted to retire in our cabin. Hey, I was craving steak!! :eatingSheila, Founder of SugarFreeSheila.com

I've been hungrier than 4-6 oz. and I am sure I have eaten that much tuna at once. I think I haev done the same with meat before, too. I must have been hungry, I guess. It isn't all the time, but I have done itF/30
