  • Day 1....

    Well with today being my first day i didnt do great but i did do better than i normally would have. I put all my foods into fitday and this is the first time i think EVER that my carb intake didnt outweigh everything else. Usually my carbs take up a whole half side of that graph. Im upset that i didnt do it perfectly, but im really trying. The coffee thing is REALLY difficult for me. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

    I didn't do this new WOE perfect at the beginning either. You just do your best to try and eat within the rules and only from the Induction list and you will do great!!

    Just stay focused on the rules. Have you read the book? Very important that you understand Dr. Atkins advice.

    Now my WOE is just like breathing to me. It all comes to me naturally. this will happen for you too.

      Couple of thoughts:

      1. It's net carbs, not toal carbs that matter, so subtract the fiber grams when you are calculating how much you've consumed.

      2. A lot of us do not give up the coffee. We cut down, but we don't give it up. It's ok. Caffeine never caused me to stall, and I drink 2 cups per day. You can start blending caffeinated and decaffeinated if you want, too.

      3. Check out the sample menus for each day of induction at www.atkins.com. It may help you figure out what you should be eating to get your percentages right!

        Here at ha we do recommend that you follow the Induction rules strictly for the first 14 days of induction. then if you wish on the 15th day you can go on to the next phase, OWL.(Ongoing weight loss).

        It is very important.

        We also recommend that you read,DANDR( Dr. Atkins new diet revolution, 2002 edition.)

          Caffeine will not help your weight loss and could hinder it.
          Avoid it during Induction....it's just 14 days.

            Let me see if I understand ....
            Fitday tells me carbs and fibre and I subtract fibre from carbs to get net carbs ? ?

                It makes my fitday stats look much better!! I thought I moved into OWL without planning too, carbs had crept up, a cup of brocoli here, a cup of mushrooms there, very easy to go over the 20g
