  • Cravings!!!!

    Hi!

This is day 2 of induction and I feel so tired and drained! I also got a headache. Is this normal. When do the cravings go away??

I did 30 minutes on the treadmill yesterday and it was ok.. but I don't know if I can keep it up every day on this diet? Is it possible??

    thanks!

I believe you have what is known as induction flu, I only know this because I was feeling the same 2 weeks ago today. I felt rubbish, and drowsy, I had to stop myself falling asleep so many times during work, but I started taking some multivitamins and minerals and I soon started to feel better. Trust me it will only last a few days, plus you may begin to feel better than before you were on the diet. I wouldn’t say that I’ve had a sudden burst of energy but I definitely feel better than I did before the diet.

Totally normal for induction, not so fondly referred to as the induction flu. It is your bodies withdrawl symptoms. All the sugars and carbs are leaving your body and when that happens and your body goes in to ketosis you will feel 100% better.

Exercise is important of course, but a lot of people wait until the induction flu is passed to start, so if you have a hard time with it just concentrate on getting through this stage (usually only a few days, though some have had it longer).

Headaches were a major symptom for me as well, does get better, hang in there.

The good news is that you will have this feeling only for another 48 hours at the most. Your body is simply detoxing from the carbs/sugar....think of it as drug withdrawal!

Some tips: ibuprofin for headaches, hot bath or jaccuzzi at the end of the day, eat a fat snack whenever you have a craving (10 olives, stick of cheese, peperonis, cube of cream cheese, avocado), plenty of water (if you get nauseous, make the water hot and add a tiny bit of lemon juice), BE PATIENT!

We PROMISE PROMISE PROMISE that in a couple of days you will wake up to a technicolor world with a TON of energy and a feeling of complete well-being!

Yup, what they said. If you've given up caffeine too you may be faced with a double whammy. At least I was. It all went away after a few days and since then I've never felt better!

Not saying you would, but in the past I got through the couple of days and then ate something I shouldn't have and I had to go through all that again. It was not worth it to me. This time I'm doing in right, so think about these days when you think a "bite won't hurt."
