Well im just doing absolutely horrible. :nono If i could keep the dang coffee out of my mouth, id be right on track. Im doing everything great EXCEPT the coffee. I guess i should state that its not really the coffee itself, its the cream and sugar IN the coffee that is messing me up. No lemme rephrase, its ME that is messing up. :anger :anger I keep telling myself, jennifer do NOT get that cup of coffee and no matter what, i just cant keep my hands away from it!!! Of course when i put it into fitday, it just screws everything up. I took the coffee out of fitday just to see what my numbers looked like and they were awesome. Only 17 carbs! Plus ive been getting all my water in too. Ive tried splenda in it and it tastes horrible to me of course. Its just soo frustrating to not have the willpower to just not drink it. I feel like a moron, its just a drink for goodness sake. If someone would have told me this was going to be my hardest thing to overcome, i would have died laughing. *sigh* I guess i will just keep on trying........

Don't be too hard on yourself. I recently gave up coffee, and getting over the addiction was a nightmare for me. Why don't you start weaning yourself, making a pot of half regular, half decaf, and using heavy whipping cream instead of your usual creamer, and splenda instead of sugar. You should be able to use a little less regular coffee every day, and believe me, you might feel like ****, but its only temporary.
I've now permanantly switched over to decaf. The trick with decaf is you have to drink it right after you brew it, and buy yourself a good brand, otherwise its bitter. I buy Barnies, which isn't available everywhere, but if its available in your area, I highly recommend their decaf "santa's white christmas." I have a cup after dinner most evenings, with heavy whipping cream.
I've been caffiene free now for 3 weeks and counting, and I feel so good. I don't get that mid afternoon slump anymore either. I have energy all day long. In fact, the last couple weeks at work, I've been working unususually long shifts, 10-14 hours, 6 days per week. I don't feel tired. I feel healthy and strong. Now I just gotta get this weight off!
Good luck!

You might try getting a tall drip coffee at Starbucks (they can make 1/2 decaff for you, too) and having them add a shot of sugar-free vanilla or sugar-free hazelnut. Then you can add your cream. It MIGHT taste better to you than straight splenda.Started Atkins 2d time 6/20/05

When my wife started with me (she's not on plan anymore, pregnant) she used to have cream and sugar in her coffee too. She started weaning herself off the sugar by 1/2 teaspoon a week. Now she doesn't use any sugar in her coffee and wouldn't have it any other way. Plus now she can tell when the coffee is really good or crap.Jim

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?
