  • Will I survive Induction in Paris?

    Hi again. It's me!

My family is taking a trip to Paris to visit EuroDisney for the holiday weekend. We are driving from Germany about 6 hours. I am trying to prepare for the trip as that will be Day 5-7 of Induction for me. I promised myself that I don't have to taste French cuisine to enjoy Paris. If I get to find a shoe store that will be more than enough to make up for goodies.

I bought some ham and turkey and swiss cheese to make wraps for the trip there. I will also pack a salad and I have some tuna. Is there anything else I can take that needs minimal refigeration to help me out in these 3 days. If I don't get hungry I know I will be ok. Is there anyone familiar with genuine French cuisine that can give me some direction as to what to eat?
sigpicAs long as I have shoes on, my feet are off the ground!

Why not? Do you know that Parisians are king of Atkins-friendly foods?

Their foods are full of rich buttery sauces, mouth-watering steaks that melt in your mouth, fish cooked to absolute perfection - I just could go on and on!

If you try and stay away from all the junkfoods that they sell in Eurodisney and try and wait to eat your meals in amazing restaurants out of disney, I think you'll have a very enjoyable food trip :yes Packing some foods like what you mentioned is a great idea - to limit the temptations you're likely to get in disneyland

                Au Revoir ... Mon amis

I wish I could bring you guys with me. Then I know I would do ok. I am determined. I am prayerful. I have no idea what to expect. All I can imagine is chocolate everywhere.

We leave in a few hours. Wish me luck. I will send pics perhaps when we return.

                  Good luck, have a blast.
You'll be fine, you've done some planning.
If you have to eat out stick to steak and salad.

I can understand your panic, but know this: if the country you're visiting has meats, cheeses, and vegetables available, it is entirely possible to do Induction properly while on holiday. I know that a cruise is an entirely different experience (much more food constantly at your fingertips!), but I just arrived home from one sailing the British Isles last week.

Not only would it be incredibly easy for someone to do Induction on a cruise ship, it would have been almost as easy to do Induction at all of the U.K. ports of call. The best advice I could offer you is to stick with clean foods to keep ordering at restaurants and cafés simple and buying food at food markets a breeze. I promise you that you can do this successfully if you just put your mind to it and know what you can eat. (http://atkins.com/Archive/2001/12/15-464579.html - In case you need some brushing up!)
